2020-21 Schedule Thread

hoping that it should be home since we went to BAMA this season. Doesn't mean it will be though

In Pollard letter about football:

Neither the NCAA nor the Big 12 have made any decision on winter sports (basketball, wrestling, swimming & diving, gymnastics and track & field). Those discussions will begin in the coming weeks. At this time, we believe those seasons would likely not start until Jan. 1, 2021.

If they don't start till Jan. 1 and only play conference games IMO it helps the teams with the most returning players as the new players will have no real competition against anyone other than their team/scout players.

I guess the plus is that there won't be the incessant caterwauling about the non-conference schedule this year.

Basically, the season starts on Nov 25th instead of Nov 10th. Nov 25th is the day before Thanksgiving. I'm guessing this date was chosen to accommodate Thanksgiving tournaments.

  • Programs can begin preseason practice on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
    • This is a 42-day window to conduct 30 practices at most.
  • Exhibitions and scrimmages before Nov. 25 will not be allowed.
  • There are three scheduling options in DI men's basketball.
    • 24 regular-season games and up to three games in one multi-team event.
    • 25 regular-season games and up to two games in one multi-team event.
    • 25 regular-season games without playing in a multi-team event.
  • There are two scheduling options in DI women's basketball.
    • 23 regular-season games and up to four additional games in one multi-team event.
    • 25 regular-season games without participating in a multi-team event.
