I still think their best move is to trade down out of the top pick. They just have so many holes to fill on the roster that by taking a QB now they can't protect him or help him out with decent receivers or a good defense. It's setting a guy up to fail. Problem is I don't think they have any willing trade partners.

I agree. I think Murray would be there later in the 1st, but the cards have played their hand in public. Other teams are going to force them into taking him higher than they should, then get less value for Rosen because they have to deal him. They cant have 2 first round QB salaries and no one to protect them. I personally think it has played out poorly, and I'm holding out it's a ruse.

Not exactly sure.
I think LB/Edge for their first pick is ideal. Some have TE mocked there, please no. I've also seen that they worked out Q. Williams, while some have said that's far-fetched, I'd guess they'd trade up and deal both their 1st round picks. They made some off season moves on the defense, so I wouldn't mind seeing them go after a RB R2. I like Jones, but am not a believer in JWilliams. They could always use OL, but I think their biggest need is LB. Rosen wouldn't be a bad move, but I'm guessing they won't want to pay for him, so they'll try and get him on the cheap, but likely would be unsuccessful.

Biggest need by far is offensive line. They have a mess right now. Bulaga is only good for half and half the season he plays a tackling dummy placed out there would be nearly as effective. They have their running back but a few of the linemen can't block forward worth a hoot so they struggle with the run.

I would like to see them trade down about 5 spots and pick up another third round. Grab a linemen with the first and then either an edge or receiver with the second first rounder. This is a deep TE draft, so the second or third round would give you decent quality at that position. They need some depth right now, they have some quality on the D side, but they get hurt so much and fall off quickly.

Yeah, I can't kill them for taking Murray if they really believe he's the guy. But there's nothing wrong with trying to replenish the rest of the roster first and taking another year to see what they have in Rosen. Justin Herbert will be eligible in next year's draft along with Tua and Jake Fromm assuming they go pro early, and Trevor Lawrence the following year so it's not as if there aren't some more elite prospects coming down the pipeline. Build out the roster first so you have a decent support system for the new QB. That's how the Browns did it, although you could argue they did it more by accident.

When you have so many top 3 picks every year, sooner or later you have to have a few successful picks in there. I think almost any of us could have pieced together a decent team with the draft selections they have had over the last five to six years.

Packers fan. My wish list is Montez Sweat at #12, and then Gutey packages his second 1st rounder with the second rounder, trading up to get Hockinson. I'm convinced he is a plug-and-play guy, and with LaFleur determined to feature the running game, we'll need a TE who is both willing and able to block.

Alternative: Jonah Williams as a Day 1 RG, keep Bulaga for one more year and then try to find a RT.

Thanks to the guys Gutey signed in FA, the edge isn't nearly the problem it might have been, but you can't pass up pass rush talent. After a QB, it's probably the most important part of the team.
They have to take Hockenson if available here, Rodgers has to have someone to throw to next year or this could be another really bad year for them considering nobody other than Adams could make a play last year.

A WR and an Olineman would be better for help with the passing.

With a new OC, it could change up the situation also. The offense was so stale the last few years it made receivers look worse. Rodgers need to unload the ball a little quicker also, he wants too many home runs, some times a couple 7-8 yard completions will give you a home run later.

I think that considering how toxic things were last season between Rodgers and McCarthy the young guys in the receiver room should get a do-over year. Hockensen's a good player but at #12 there'll be better value at other positions.

You may be right, I'm a Redskins fan so the needs could include Hockenson a little further down. I'm tired of seeing Jordan Reed play half the season and Keenum is a band aid at QB. I'm preferring the Skins to tank a couple years, stock up some picks and hope they can land Trevor Lawrence in 2 years.

I have not followed GB as closely the last few years, ISU has done well enough that I don't need that NFL surrogate to get me by. I looked and GB has been active in free agency with outside linebackers so I'm doubting we go after Bush, but you never know.

Had Reed a couple years in fantasy football, will never take him again. The two big games arent worth a dead roster spot for the ten that he misses.

Because there was a video. They new about all three of his off the field issues long befoee TMZ released the video. If there wasn't a video, he would still be a Chief.

I think it was more that he lied to the Chiefs saying he did nothing. If he would have been truthful, I bet he would have gotten a 6 game suspension last year and still be on the Chiefs now.

Hock is too much of a jack of all trades to be drafted just as a target for Rodgers imo. I'd prefer a clear #2 to Adams or more more pass rush help. Oline would be good too and they did get Turner in FA too so they could get some more depth there too. I like Oliver for for the DL myself but we shall see.

Bulaga has been a huge disappointment with the contract he's getting. He gets hurt every year and I swear has the most holding penalties on the team. Can't argue they need OL, heck they've had so many holes in several areas last few years it's hard to know where to exactly start. I would not be mad if they grabbed a lineman early, but please no TE. PFF had them taking Butler at 30 and Fant in the 2nd round (while I don't think he makes it that far) those would be steals. Pack could use another big play maker.

This year's QB class lacks the luster of last year's group. Let's rank 'em anyway. What do you think?

1. Murray
2. Haskins
3. Finley
4. Grier
5. Lock
6. Jones

It's crazy that probably at least four of these guys will be taken in the first round tomorrow night. Murray and Haskins are Day 1 starters and nobody else on that list should be better than a second day pick at best. I think Lock and Jones have bust written all over them. Big guys with accuracy problems, which means that one of them is bound to get drafted by the Broncos.

You now a lot.

I think it is pretty much common knowledge at this point. The Chiefs new about all of his off the field stuff, TMZ got the video, he got caught in a lie, they released him to save face. This is the same organization that had a domestic abuser linebacker kill himself in the parking lot, after the team wouldn't let him into the facility to kill Jamal Charles.

Chance for Thunderstorms tomorrow night in Nashville and with an outside metal stage things could get interesting from a Broadcast perspective.

I'm guessing that Cyclone.TV was just making a joke at your misspelling of "knew" in your quoted post.
