I would like to see undrafted players have the option to come back, but getting drafted in a later round and deciding to return to college will never happen. It wouldn’t be fair to the NFL team to waste a pick on a player that decides to not stay.

Why would it be any different than what MLB has to put up? Hell, the A's signed Murray, and now he gets drafted in the NFL, they lose that pick, tough for them. Sorry I will never feel sorry for some professional team, I am thinking about the student athlete.

Comparing the MLB and NFL drafts are apples to oranges. The vast majority of MLB players drafted will never see 1 game in the Major Leagues. MLB teams also get a lot more draft picks in order to fill out their farm team’s rosters. Which makes the NFL draft picks much more valuable.

I’m all for siding with the student athletes but the NFL will never allow a redrafting process.

Comparing the MLB and NFL drafts are apples to oranges. The vast majority of MLB players drafted will never see 1 game in the Major Leagues. MLB teams also get a lot more draft picks in order to fill out their farm team’s rosters. Which makes the NFL draft picks much more valuable.

Technically, the NFL already allows for this. If a player doesn't like where they're drafted, they can sit out a year and go in the next year's draft. The NCAA would not allow them to have any eligibility, though.

You’re making a lot of assumptions. Some of these guys may be tired of college, some may desperately need the opportunity to earn.

Almost never. Bo Jackson did it, but he had baseball to fall back on. First overall pick to the bucs. Refused to play for them. Sat out a year. The next year he was taken in the 7th round. That's why almost nobody does it. The league doesn't take very kindly to being snubbed like that, and nobody wants to set a precedent of it being a successful tactic.

Jackson was selected with the first overall pick of the 1986 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he refused to play for them because a visit to team facilities they said was NCAA-approved was actually not, causing him to miss the remainder of his final college baseball season.

Iirc Bo considered it a tactic by TB to lock him into football because they knew he was a legit risk to play MLB. They were fooling with the wrong dude.

I like David going to the Bears. Since they got rid of their arrogance, the Bears have really become a good team. (Now if only the White Sox could do the same). David is a good fit. I never saw a better runner at turning a 3-yard loss into a 2-yard gain. And now he will be running behind an offensive line that actually has some talent and coach-developed ability.

Only for odd people. Big XII attracts great offensive people so naturally we will have more offense people drafted. Why ISU basketball has had more guards in the draft, or do you think it stings that we have more guards in the nba than centers. Pretty logical for both situations.

Plus, as is proven by the poster you quoted, school doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t end up working a minimum wage as a mall security guard
