Yeah.. there aren’t any more questions about Marcedus.

Assuming Lindell recovers his draft position, we’ve got a Halliburton/Leech backcourt next season. THT makes it a filthy perimeter.

I'm certainly not an NBA scout but man unless Wigginton has a huge February and especially March I have a tough time seeing him leaving.

It feels a tiny bit like the Tyler Cook situation with Iowa a year ago. Sure...I understand he wants to turn pro and make money. I've seen better players leave too early and cant stick on an NBA roster though.

Its always nice to have freshman contribute, but I don't see it next year unless there is big time roster turnover. Even if Wigginton enters the draft, we have Halliburton, Horton Tucker and Nixon back at guards. imo we will play a traditional 2 post lineup next year with Jacobson, Lard, Young and Conditt all returning. U would expect Zion or Terrance to to play a lot next year too.

IMO Jackson has the best chance for extended PT if he can play great D on opposing PG's.

We don’t really have Nicon “back”, since he hasn’t played. And as good a player as he is, I think that Leech is both better and adds more to what this team does. Marcedus is more on the level of THT. No way he doesn’t start. Nixon will make a nice sixth man.

Again, assuming that Lindell doesn’t return.

I would see a backcourt of Halliburton, Horton-Tucker and Leech as a liability defending quick opposing PG's.

I will be curious on Halliburton's growth over the next 10 mos. He is great in transition, but can he be a PG running the half court offense in his ability to break down defenders and get his jumper off. He benefits this year from playng along side NWB, Shayock and THT. IMO Halliburton is a great passing wing. TNT is a shorter/wing version of Georges. Put him in the high post like Prohm did today.

Also what makes Leech better than Zion Griffen on the wing or maybe even Lewis?

I think it is safe to say we have a seven man rotation this season...

Haliburton
Horton-Tucker
Jacobson
Lard
Shayok
Weiler-Babb
Wigginton

We are only guaranteed to lose two of those in Nick and Marial.

There have been some whispers about Haliburton, Horton-Tucker, and Wigginton going to the NBA, and we all know about the various Lard situations and his potential to go pro, though he seems happy and contributing to the team positively now.

So there are going to be at least two slots to fill. Maybe more.

Veterans like Nixon and Young are going to become eligible/ready again.

Lewis and Conditt have definitely flashed some moments this past season.

If guys are leaving in the spring, we will be looking to add, obviously.

It is not going to be an easy course for these three incoming freshmen. I think the competition is obviously wonderful for the program, though, and Haliburton has shown that somebody can definitely come from out of nowhere to be a huge contributor.

Losing Nick, your do-everything PG and super-senior, and Marial, coming out of a winning program, leading the Big 12 in scoring, competing for first-team all-Big 12 and maybe even POTY, is going to hurt, but we have the young men to step up.

I think we are going to be pretty good next year, too.

All three 2019 commits position ranking went up in the latest update...

Tre Jackson: From #39 up to #26 PG
Marcedus Leech: From #49 up to #41 SF
Luke Anderson: From #43 up to #39 PF

Note on Tre Jackson's rating specifically... The #24 PG is ranked #142 overall. So Tre (#26 PG) is likely just outside the top 150 on rivals for overall rankings.

Tre Jackson won a three point contest at the tournament his high school team is playing at. I saw unofficially on twitter he had 24 pts, 12 boards, and 10 asts in the game before the contest as well.

In that first picture I think Tre had a huge growth spurt. Look how he towers over his classmates... :)

Jackson (coming in like Haliburton, underappreciated but just a gamer) and Leech (as the near 5*, if he plays like where he once was, perfectly capable of being a starter in the Big 12 on a good team like LW and THT after a few weeks) coming in to replenish our backcourt after losing Nick, Marial, and possibly another guy or two to the NBA would be awesome.
