"Credit Suisse is buying back the VelocityShares Daily Inverse VIX Short-Term ETN, which it issued and is known by its trading symbol XIV. The fund’s market value topped $2 billion in late January; it was down more than 80 percent afterhours Monday before being halted. The bank said it’s redeeming early because the indicative value on Feb. 5 was equal to or less than 20 percent of the prior day’s closing indicative value."

Have to love all the **** they come up with to trade....what could go wrong though, right?

Wow is that guy dumb. I've never even heard of a CFD before and he's day trading them with a credit card. Brilliant. Young and dumb I guess.

Is that a Canadian thing? Never heard of this as well. Weird story but Canada is a weird place...as is tradition.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Investing really interests me so I thought I'd jump in this thread. I was interested in how the CF picks were doing so far, so I made a Google Sheet that automatically updates the stock prices people picked and calculates both the individual gain for each stock and an equal weight portfolio gain. I didn't want to step on anyone's toes that may already be keeping track of all of it, but if people want me to I can post a link to the spreadsheet.

Post it up ! Id be interested !

Still buying in on UA. I want to get in on some FB soon too, it's off 15%, but I want it to get to -20% and then start loading up.

Been pretty quiet in here. Anyone buying anything lately?
Face book at $160.00

I have another in at $140.00.

My logic was, with the order, was that it was generally overbought. Traders will jump like rats from a burning ship with a name brand stock that is overbought Nothing rational about the recent selling of FB. The rats will jump back on=== hopefully. I put the order in when it hit 190.00. Now admitting my ignorance, I believe $ 190.00 will be seen again. I sell at that point. Hopefully sooner than later. I rationalize that I purchased this stock at 15% off.

I don't see much support for FB until the $120 area. But that's not a stock I will buy at any price so I don't watch it carefully.

Speaking of investing, has anyone attended the yearly Berkshire meeting in Omaha? I just sent in my request for 4 tickets but will only be going on Saturday.

Yes but get destroyed by a stupid market reaction like today. So much mindless computer trending.

Is SPXS a stock that will jump considerably in a stock-market crash?

Yes it is designed to react at 3X the reaction. I’m not trading this thing daily it’s a long term play for me at one point I was worried if it would survive or if it would reverse split but that hasn’t happened yet. So just sitting waitin for the long slow slide back down.
