Like McKay, Greene will most likely sign for his full slot money. With the Twins having so many early picks, they decided not to give the first pick full money and spread it out over three rounds. That evidently eliminated McKay, Greene, and possibly Wright. Not a strategy a lot of fans like, but we'll find out in about four years if it pays off for the new Twins front office.

Interesting that they redrafted a guy, Brent Rooker, they could not sign last year. I guess they are hoping to have more money available to go at him this time.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it might be same issue with McKay and Green

Really excited for Rooker - dude flat out raked last year at MSU. Should be able to sign him this year as a 2nd rounder opposed to a 38th rounder. He's already 22, so if he can progress quickly he'd be a nice piece to join Buxton & Kepler in the outfield - ideally moving Rosario into a 4th outfielder role.

Whoever was advising Rooker gave him good advice. One more year of high level college ball and moves for 38th round to #35 pick overall. Ca-ching!

Twins just came from 3 down to go up 5-3....hopefully they forgot they're playing at home!

No kidding on the football scores. Seems like any time they play anymore someone is getting double digits. I just hope it's the good guys more often than not. 28 hits, and 3 bombs by Rosario, and Gibson has a 500 record. All in all a good night.

The Twins are 27th in MLB in overall ERA. Obviously some run support has been key this year.

Without Santana's and Berrios' contributions, they'd likely be dead last. By a wide margin.

Yeah totally agree. It's amazing what two guys pitching like an ace or close to it can do for a team. How many teams have we seen somehow make the playoffs and then dominate because they have a good 1-2 punch in starting pitching.

Viola/Blyleven! I really thought Gibson had worked out some of his problems in his little stint at Rochester, but last night he struggled again. Hope Hughes, Perkins, et al. can get back sooner rather than later.

defense has been a major part in helping back our streaky pitching. Last night, even with the 7 runs, was a great defensive game all around by the Twins.
