Yeah, I think it's because two of those are Winter Olympics and not many countries want those. I think the China one was down to them and Kazakstan.

I heard their 2008 venues are not being used so I'm surprised they bid again. My favorite winter games were Vancouver because the scenery was so beautiful. Sochi was not nearly as nice.

Too bad the next three won't be live in primetime. NBC probably hoping for games in Chicago or Dallas or something.

The thing I hated about Sochi was how the climate was terrible for winter games. I remember it cost Shawn white a gold medal because the half pipe was melting. The announcers even talked about how only the first competitor got a good run because the snow was so awful.
