2016 Rio Summer Olympics

I have reached the conclusion that Ledecky & Phelps are aliens. From a planet that is 99.9% water.

Didn't they make a movie about that?

With all due respect I didn't disagree with it being a problem, I disagreed with it being a problem because the athlete was a woman. I still feel the same disrespect could and would have just as easily been handed out to a male spouse of a celebrity.

Also, I don't generally do this but since you brought it up:

Not particularly hot, but no one seems to care. She is a rocking athlete.

I'm fairly certain that earlier in this very thread someone commented on how our female swimmers are "homely". Also asking why the female gymnasts aren't as "hot" as the men.

There was also this gem of a discussion on Fox News.

though I do agree that the Tribune thing was mostly overreach on the local connection.

“Tamara, look how beautiful you are with that makeup. What do you look like when you crawl out of bed in the morning? I’d rather have you now.”

Dear Lord.

I actually found that the least offensive of the three.

“I think when you see an athlete, why should I have to look at some chick’s zits? Why not a little blush on her lips and cover those zits?”

“Would you put money behind a gal that won the gold medal that looks like a washed out rag?”

Venus Williams and Rajeev Ram advanced in mixed doubles when 36 year old Venus hit a service winner to Fabio Fognini. Sock and tube socks (Mattek-Sands) playing now.

For me it's the "I'd rather have you now" part of it. Maybe I read that wrong. Maybe I didn't. But it sure did objectify her.

I'm trying to figure out what Olympic sport I'd have the best chance in and my answer is none. All of these athletes are just so impressive at what they do.

If any of you were a Olympic athlete would you rather have your event towards the end or the beginning of the Olympics?

I think I'd rather get them over with and have the remaining time for one giant party.

Yep, the first Sunday. Relax a day after opening ceremonies, get it over with, then go to events and party.
