What's the deal with Tajen Ross the high school kid from ADM? He's sort of impressive. Where is he going to school?

I haven't been able to make it out to any games yet but I am always a little surprised when I see the box scores and this kid has 20+ points. I saw on Twitter he's getting some D2 looks, maybe a preferred walk on candidate for us?

Not that this is a newsflash for anyone but Monte is really, really good. Much like last year with Georges, we are going to have to appreciate the games we have left with him. He is just a joy to watch. And he was rocking some short-shorts ;)

I was impressed with Jacolby Long. The thing that is most impressive is that he is not a small freshman. He's taller than I thought and is built sturdy.

Holden doesn't have much for post moves, but he seems to be a junk yard dog and can finish if he gets an offensive rebound. Probably what we need from him. Young is built well and I think can be a good player.

He has stood out to me every time I've seen him play. He's got a good looking 3 point shot.

That's honestly all we need from Holden. Give us a Hogue type player, even without the outside shot, and we'll be alright.

Was Holden the one that was facing off with Edozie under the basket?

Merrill Holden highlights: https://instagram.com/p/BHtTLGkhCCF/
-He's more skilled than he showed tonight. Was a late arrival so it took him awhile to find his rhythm.

Monte Morris highlights: https://instagram.com/p/BHtNq_qDOFG/

Jakolby Long highlights: https://instagram.com/p/BHtSBo3B_c2/

Deonte Burton highlights: https://instagram.com/p/BHtAYHiBkh0/

Simeon Carter highlights: https://instagram.com/p/BHtA3v0Bsjh/

Nick Weiler-Babb highlights: https://instagram.com/p/BHtF0fvBL7L/
-Sat for about 8 minutes in the second half as he was frustrated with the refs so he took himself out.

Solomon Young highlights: https://instagram.com/p/BHtGQOahYq-/

Naz Mitrou-Long highlights: https://instagram.com/p/BHtPQW5hHlI/

It really seemed like Naz and Burton looked to pass first tonight. Was impressed with Jakolby and Simeon. He's showing improvements, I think if needed, he could give you some minutes down low. Same with Jakolby but in the backcourt, obviously.

Ray Kasongo and Donovan Jackson were in attendance. Kasongo didn't look as big as I thought he would.

Darrell Bowie and Matt Thomas did not play.

Do you think Young's 3-point shooting ability will translate to big 12 play? Or is it just because its CCl?

I think it will depend on how well he can shoot them in practice against better defenders. If Prohm feels comfortable putting him in situations where he can space the floor on the perimeter he probably will probably do it in the Big 12. It may not happen immediately. Prohm obviously wasn't thrilled with McKay shooting 3's, but was ok with Niang and Nader. My gut says Young will eventually develop into a strong SF once his handle and shooting mature. He'll probably start out with the majority of the time inside the 3PT line as that is where his game is strongest right now. I would add that his handle and shooting appear to be ahead of schedule from what I expected.

My observations from the (first 2) games last night:

- Solomon Young is huge. I mean, the dude is built even more like a linebacker than Burton. I can't believe he just graduated high school. I have high hopes for him.
- Simeon Carter appears to be progressing slowly. While he predictably spent the vast majority of his time cleaning up around the hoop, he did show at least one instance of some pretty good handles away from the hoop, which was impressive and unexpected.
- I really like Nick Weiler-Babb. I think he'll get solid minutes this year.
- Naz & Burton were really looking to get others involved in the first half, dropping dimes all over the place. Naz's ball handling was rather impressive, faking guys out left and right. Naz's enthusiasm for his teammates while he was on the bench was also great. It was fun to watch.
- Stu gonna Stu.

Thanks for the update.
Good to hear Simeon is making progress and getting some positive comments on this board, I was starting to think that wasn't allowed.
Carter full getting year under Prohm and developmental time should help him take the next step and contribute at least a little this year but more importantly top 7 rotation minutes his Junior year.

With his physical abilities, I don't think it's out of the question that he could have a McKay like presence if he just hustles and learns to position himself well. A big man running the floor like McKay doesn't happen every day, but he could exceed him in other ways to make up for it.

Thompsonclone should be allowed unlimited rep in this thread, thanks for the highlights!

I love Burton's behind the back dribble, so quick, powerful and in step.
