MLB: 2014 Chicago Cubs

With a hit today, the Cubs will extend the no no-hit streak to 7,777 games.

On the anniversary of the Cubs first night game, on 8/8/88.

That's a weird ******* stat.

Baez is a pimp. I'm so ticked that Fitzy picked him up before I could in our fantasy league. I think he grabbed about an hour before I went out there.

Not that this compares, but the last time the Rays played at Wrigley, Lou Piniella was their coach, and Sammy Sosa got busted with a corked bat by Des Moines native Tim McClelland.

Looking at Turners stats. Kind of feel bad for him. He was thrown into the fire way to quickly. Hopefully the Cubbies can fix his issues. I still think he can be a #1 in the next couple years if we figure out his issues.

Damn!

His HR to right center last night was a thing of beauty. Every young hitter needs to watch that and see how to take the pitch the other way

He's got 2 opposite fielders so far which is a good sign. So many guys are too dependent on pulling the ball. Dude has enough power to just poke it out to right.

Cubs officially get Jacob Turner for 2 nobody pitchers.

Great pickup for the Cubs. All reward and no risk. If he sucks it didn't cost anything of value.

It's funny that it wasn't that long ago that many thought Turner would be the main piece in a Matt Garza trade between Detroit and Chicago.

yeah that's just it, when you have the batspeed he has you don't have to worry about pulling everything because it doesn't really matter if you square it up perfectly. All he has to do is get close to the sweetspot and that ball is going a long way.
