2 Deep on Cyclones.com

Some interesting stuff, kind of disheartening that Sims has not won the SS spot outright as we kind of know what we're getting in O'Connell.

Thought Stephens moving to center meant the end of the days of Alex Alvarez starting, he must truly be in our top 5 after still being in the starting lineup after the switch. Was kind of hoping a guy like Hicks or Baysinger would win the spot.

Of course all of this will change quite a bit during the year. Hopefully Spears can redshirt and get some muscle to his frame, but might be thrown into the fire with Hulbert transferring. Ready to see these guys get out there and play!

I read the depth chart as Sims being the #1 SS.

It pisses me off to see Sandvig and O'Connell on KR/PR. Both of them have fumbled enough for one lifetime.

I'm so sick of seeing some guy get to return punts just because he's an undersized walk on from Iowa. The last 3 (now) coaching staffs have insisted on this. I really hope that McDowell (who is listed) ends up being the guy.

Also surprised to see Alvarez over Hicks.

Lenz is supposed to be good.

I'm a fan of Lenz. Not sure if he'll get a bunch of time at WR this year, but he could very well be returning punts. If we could let him mature a year, great, but whatever wins us games.

Money would be my first choice.

I would just like to see someone who is competent back there. I don't care who it is as long as they can do it. I don't want a walk-on back there because the staff is worried about a good player getting injured. It seems like we throw scrubs back there for cannon fodder, without realizing what a weapon a good return game could be.

Rhoads seems to be too. I say a post practice interview and he was gushing about the kids footwork. Sounds like he makes people miss.

Every one of those recievers will play a significant amount. What I really like to see is that Reeves, at 5'7 is not going to be redshirted meaning me must be pretty solid. I really did expect him to get redshirted so he could develop great technique because he will be smaller than anyone he covers. As for returns, just get us someone who can catch it, then get us 10 yards, I'm not asking for a lot there. Sedrick Johnson needs to be our Dez Bryant this year. Yes, money can catch and run, but Johnson, at 6'4 needs to be a huge deep threat and a threat in the redzone. That's what we missed last year. We need a guy that can go up and get a jump ball.

Good to see Tau Foou and Klein making an immediate impact at Middle Line Backer. Like the age spread at that postition. You'd think we have to play better at that postion this year.

I love the size that we have at WR. All three projected starters 6'2" or taller and over 200 lbs. This is going to create some major matchup issues for opposing teams if we can utilize them well.

Bo Williams. 3rd stringer right now. He'll likely see some PT, but my guess is that he isn't doing well w/his pass blocking right now.

Pass blocking probably isn't the problem... I think our RBs are needed to be weapons with the ball in the passing game, not staying in to block...

Glad to see Sims grab a spot, dude's a rock...

Would it be fair to assume Bo isn't doing a very good job catching the ball? We know A-Rob has done pretty well in that role.
