2/22-24 Winter Weather Thread

Stop what? Did the two low pressures combine and deepen or not?

Yes it is continuing to intensify.

Was out and about in CR for a couple of hours. We had no issues but these roads are going to be **** both with ice and pot holes.

I had all these people at work yesterday all excited about getting rain today to melt this snow off and I just kept telling them that they better be careful what they wished for. This is going to get awfully ugly here by tomorrow when all this water on the trees freezes tonight and 50+ mph winds kick in.

We were thinking of going to a Roughriders game, but I decided to pass on it because I think that whole area will be a mess tonight if it's not already.

That’s actually right where we were (free hockey lessons for kids) and it was okay at that point. We got a coupon for tickets to tonight but I doubt it is going to be very nice out once the game is over.

Raining again.

We are well over an inch per hour in the algona area. Roads completely covered and drifted already. Bet I've got 3" on my driveway from 4:45 til now

No travel recommended in the western half of the state. Dallas County and Story county were added to blizzard warning.

I was downtown near Newbo this afternoon and didn't have any issues getting about. Edgewood up to the Hy-Vee was fine as well. Wife is working late at Kirkwood, guess I'll report back once I pick her up.

Roads went from wet to completely covered in less than 30 minutes. Put the work truck in the ditch, so yeah, dont drive in this ****.

They are even pulling some of the plows off the streets because it’s so bad in some counties I read.

Folks just got home from WBB, unless you really need to travel please don't it is deteriorating rapidly. 20 W of Webster City is 100% snow covered and visibility is dropping in a hurry. Stay safe everyone.

Have they made any progress on the ice rink parking lots? If not....Godspeed.

We drove from Estherville back to WDM. We left Estherville around 2:45 and was back in WDM by 6:00. At the time, roads were bad from south of Algona to Ft. Dodge. Then were wet south of Ft. Dodge to WDM. By the time we got home, rain had all changed to snow.

The DOT has pulled plows off the roads in NW Iowa.

North Central Iowa roads (US 69 and west) now considered impassible by DOT. Let's see if I remember how to import current road condition map

Sitting by a fire and drinking whiskey. One of the few fun things I can do during winter
