If they are smart they won’t really “open” the highways until they get everything towed out.

Is 35 still closed?

I'm in West Ames and it is sunny with blue skies and only an occasional burst of wind (nothing terrible). Neighborhood kids are out having fun on the snow piles.

This is just recently outside of Huxley. Lots of cars in the ditch and it sure seems as though the roads are bad. I always laugh at people in town that assume the conditions in town are indicative of it everywhere.

So that was like 20 cars in the ditch in that 30 second video.

At first, I didn't think it looked very bad.

This winter can suck a fat one. So sick of moving snow.

The thing is that it didn't do much until the middle of January. The only saving grace is we didn't have this **** for December and half of January. But for the past 40 or so days, it has been a *****. And during the short time there wasn't snow, we had the record breaking cold week.

True but this last 40 days have sucked getting up at 3 am moving snow almost daily. Woof. Worst stretch in 11 years working for ISU.

Des Moines must have just missed the brunt of it. I had to get out for an appointment earlier, expected it to be Snowpocalypse, all it ended up being was some wet side streets and a perfectly dry I-235.

It will go from cold to super hot. Seems like "Spring Weather" doesn't happen anymore.

That’s what we had last year in MSP and it sucked. We got 14” of snow on April 26. By the time all the snow was gone, it was May and we were right into summer. Then we went from hot all “fall” right into frigid temps. We got no spring or fall last year, which is the ideal time to live in minnesota.
