I don't know about click bait (i.e. they're doing it on purpose) but I'm quite sure you're correct about the not taking regions into account. Why would any bracketologist spend the time calculating distances when we're over a month away? The accuracy of these brackets are never really measured until the projected bracket released just before the real bracket is revealed. So I never really put any weight in the regional projections (or particular matchups, for that matter) until right before the reveal.

Q1 and Q2 records:
Iowa: 3-5, 5-0
Ole Miss: 3-7, 2-0
Syracuse: 2-2, 3-2
TCU: 1-5, 4-1
Iowa is also rated 10-20 spots higher than each of those teams in both NET and Kenpom. Not sure how you consider those to be “similar” resumes. You’re entitled to your opinion, but it’s more than likely wrong (Iowa is at least 2 seeds higher than each of those teams inn bracketmatrix).
Does the committee use Kenpom now? Legit question, because I haven't been doing brackets the last few years. If so I'll have to take that into account next time

People seem to give Lunardi a hard time for whatever reason when it comes to Bracketology, but every time I listen to Palm or read an interview with him he strikes me as being insufferably arrogant.
Palm has been dragging his feet on ISU for like 2 weeks. Hasn't budged from 6 line.
The team sheets that the committee uses includes each teams BPI, Kenpom, KPI, and Sagarin rankings. How much emphasis each of these is given is obviously unclear. I would assume they look at the rankings holistically, but your guess is as good as mine.
Well, he does have 9 Big Ten teams in the field, if that tells you anything.
He still had Nebraska in the First Four until had no choice. And still has them first team out.
I do think BTen could get 8, but there's a lot of chaff near the lower edge.

Yep, at 13-9. Net ranking has them at like 33 or 34, so it loves them too apparently, but I can't figure out why from looking at their schedule.
I wouldn't get overly critical of CoKane's bracket. I've collaborated with him for CF's Bracket Matrix, he does the research, I can vouch.

No thank you. Potentially having your season end at the hands of Iowa while being the reason they actually make the Sweet 16 for the first time in 300 years would be horrendous.

Isn't one of the rules of bracketing that you can't meet a team you played in the regular season before the Sweet 16 or something like that? Or is that just the first game.
i totally agree. For me it's more of the fact that no one outside of Iowa would care and I to play someone we haven't played before.
It applies only to intra-conference games. You can meet as early as sweet 16 if teams met no more than once during season/conference tournament. Otherwise it's no sooner than Elite 8. OR... it could be Round of 32/Sweet 16. It's one of the two.
First round matchups they attempt to avoid regular season rematches, if it's possible.
