Was babysitting my first grandson 1 1/2 month old so my daughter and my son in law (both graduates ISU) could attend the game. Trying not to lose my shite and waking him up.
We were living in Tuscaloosa at the time. Went to a play at the university with my wife and her friend. Went to the bar afterwards to watch the last quarter. Jumped up on the bar and sang the Iowa state fight song after the win.
Next day went to the bama game with an ISU t-shirt on. My two buddies and me didn’t pay for a drink all day and well into the night. Never been so drunk in my life. What a weekend.
It was me and my youngest son at the game. Wife and daughter were in Indy for a youth conference. They were at the hotel and heard all the yelling and screaming.
I missed the game because I had to help load ISU students on buses to Minneapolis and Chicago for Thanksgiving break, so I gave my tickets to my teenage son. I was so happy he got to be there and run out on the field. Neither of us will ever forget that night.

Not enough people talk about big Kelechi clearing space three straight times on that drive. Best football player ever to step on the field for Iowa State.
A replay with all of Woody would be better,....how is this?
I had tickets and planned to go . . . . then let the wife talk me into going to Cedar Falls to watch her high school team (we were both in mid 40's) play for a state championship (they lost). Listened to game on drive home and got back to our house just as Woody scored.
I totally forgot that was a Friday night game. At the time, I’d been talking to this girl from a dating site for a week or two, and we were trying to line up a time to meet for drinks. I somehow talked her into meeting up on Thursday night. She agreed, but not without giving me a hard time about not getting a “premium” night. I’m like 85% sure she thought I had another date lined up the next night and I decided that was preferable to telling her I really just wanted to watch a dumb game at the end of a meaningless season that my team was almost certain to lose in embarrassing fashion.
Anyway, the date went really well, the Cyclones won, and my wife of 9 years still has no idea the real reason why our first date was on a Thursday.
