Too far North and West of Ames/DSM area to discuss.
It's the half of Iowa where nobody lives?
It looks like NE IA will once again be skating past this storm. Looking forward to Xmas mountain bike rides in consecutive years.
Saying its half of Iowa is a stretch. More like a quarter, and the least populace quarter at that. Where most of the people live its mostly going to be windy.
That's actually why I made the venture over to CF this morning, and was disappointed not to see one as well. Here's to half a day of work, and hopefully not losing power later today!
Came here looking for this thread after seeing the forecast on my phone for next week. It's saying 10-19 inches over these two days.

It could be epic. We're looking at forecasts of 13"-19" plus. Where's our weather guys when we need em? Where's Earl? We need to stock up on toilet paper!

Pretty sure everyone has a roomful yet from "the great TP free-for-all of 2020". I have two snow blowers, a good supply of liquor, smoked meat and jerky, and a new snow shovel!! Better head to the store and beat the rush on eggs, milk and bread though!!

“Better”????? I think you’re choice of words there is questionable.
13"? Weatherstreet.com has central up into NW Iowa getting over two feet of snow. Of course I have yet to see anything they forecast materialize. This time however it's not just them picking up on this. Maybe not 2 feet....but something.
Seems like a simple math problem that is what it is regardless of your social standing.
