OK, maybe this doesn't deserve a thread of its own, but I went to ISU in the 90s and we won 10 games combined in my 4 years in Ames. I had season tickets in the 0-10-1 season.
Pretty amazing that we have won that in one season.
What Matt Campbell has done here is just short of a miracle to me. It's a great time to be a Cyclone!
7-25-1 in my Ames days.
In the oh-10-1 season they tied an Ok St team that was in a dark era....and then sang the fight song to celebrate the TIE.
The most compelling action was in the parking lot. Drunken student games were more competitive.
(RIP Meister Brau. You'll always live in our hearts.)
A 47-50 loss to Kansas stands out. Clones scored 40 unanswered. Kansas then put up 29 to win. Same season the good guys beat one of the best college football teams of all time with a spunky backup-backup-backup quarterback.
This era is light years from the Walden Era. (Not to blame Jim Walden)
