The best thing I’ve done for myself is learn to detach when a loss happens. I care deeply about ISU athletics and will follow them rain or shine, good or bad. But the last thing I’m going to do is perseverate over every loss. Celebrate the wins. Move on from the losses. -

I really appreciated Lawrence when I first went there, but it was summer so it was a lot quieter than it would normally be. But even then, the vibe seemed really chill. Iowa City isn’t as bad as people here say it is. Very similar to Lawrence. Gets a lot of undeserved hate. But I’m probably biased. -

As commented earlier, machine learning has improved things like forecasting the conditions that form severe weather outbreaks further into the future. The frequency of these events is going to be a hotter topic to discuss, but I think at least the core of it is partially due to improved models.
