Big 12 games thus far...

Home teams have won only FIVE of the fifteen games?!?!
This one is the craziest stat! In a league with a bunch of tough teams you'd expect home court to be the deciding factor in a lot of games. Will be interesting to see what the record is over the next 15 games. Would imagine there's a shift in the other direction.

15 league games so far.

7/15 have been by 3 points or less

11/15 have been by 7 points or less

3 games have gone to OT

Largest margin of victory is 15 (ISU over Baylor)

Home teams have won only FIVE of the fifteen games?!?!
Road games are easier at the start of conference play, as students are not back in school yet for the first couple of games. I always like ISU starting out on the road like they have this year, as Hilton will be better and louder once the students are back. Same everywhere else too.

When so many Big 12 teams go on the road these days, they are lazer focused, play with great intensity, and have less to lose.

While Tech is gonna come into Ames 0-3 on Tuesday night, you can be certain we're gonna get their absolute best effort. If we don't play with great intensity, we can easily lose this game. The good news is that TJ is really good at keeping our guys focused.

There's something psychological about going on the road: it's us vs the world, this is a business trip, less expectations so less to lose, etc...

That's why I get more nervous watching our home games than road games.

Is it really home court when half the arena is empty?

Any sort of different environment is going to be harder to play in than the home court generally.

There should really be a deep dive to figure out who the old Hok trolls are that keep coming around.

Remember when everyone was saying that it will be super difficult to win on the road in the Big 12??

Road teams won 5 of 5 games today.
I'm not sure I would call most of the road wins easy. Hard fought yes and not usual that the visitor comes out on top.
