Enjoy.

Box score is misleading. ISU couldn't do anything against an injury depleted WV team until the 4th quarter when shear attrition finally broke WV. WV injuries heading into the game.

RB: Tony Mathias. Didn't play
OL: James Gitmer. Didn't play
TE/RB: CJ Donaldson. Didn't play
TE: Mike O’Laughlin. Didn't play.
RB: Justin Johnson Jr. . Played but has been banged up.
Safety: Davis Mallinger. Didn't play
Corner: Jacolby Spells. Was expected to play. Didn't play
Corner: Mumu Bin-Wahad. Didn't play.
LB: Lance Dixon. Didn't play.

WVU looked like a bad football team, but we've seen how close ISU has been against good teams this year. My optimistic takeaway is that this was the confidence booster the team needed to get over the hump and start taking control of the close games against much better teams that we're likely in for the last 3 weeks.

Hope doesn’t cost anyone a thing. The people around here dismissing the win aren’t going to be any less unhappy if we don’t win Saturday. So you can either be miserable all week and miserable Saturday. Or be happy all week and be miserable Saturday.

Looks like the 'clones are favored Sat. at OSU. Should be a great game.

Yep, so what. Part of football. Every season there are W/L as result of when you play another team. Injuries, peaks & valleys, etc.

Never wasting an opportunity to discount a Cyclone victory.

WTF is wrong with you. We can never enjoy a victory. It gets in the way of your need to discredit Campbell.

I think a W and a little confidence boost will do this team a lot of good. Losing sucks, and wears on people.

Really sucks Norton wasn't healthy earlier this year so he could be further along. If either him or Brock had been healthy all year I do think we have 1 or 2 more wins and this season feels different. Silas is a perfect change of pace back. He played his role perfectly last game. With all the returning OLineman that has to be the most disappointing group this year by far. If the offense continues to improve I definitely see Manning being brought back but there has to be a change at o-line coach. We need to be much better in that area if we want to play the ball Campbell wants and we want to take the next step. Can't depend on always having an NFL running back to bail them out.

Happy for the victory, but this team needs major staff changes on offense after this year.

Major.

It should be criminal to waste the incredible effort our defense is giving every single week.

Without the major changes, ISU will be stuck with a lower ceiling, where ISU will underachieve.

If people aren't trying to hire your assistants away, you have a problem.

I appreciate the optimism going forward, but you guy didn't mention the elephant in the room (Campbells record when the spread is under one score). We'll see if he can start to put that in the right direction this weekend, but I'm not overly confident as a slight favorite based off history.

So are we to assume 5-7 is bowlin' this season?

Sure sounded like it on that pod...

I'd prefer to move on from Manning but I'm just saying if we get bowl eligible and the offense keeps improving I'd bet Campbell keeps him on staff.

I'd be okay with retaining him if it means he's also the OL coach. That is the biggest culprit of the offensive struggles.

Yeah I could be convinced if we make a bowl game and continue to look better on offense. But we absolutely have to make changes at o-line coach.

And anyone who has endured a long losing streak knows getting out of it can be quite a mental and physical grind no matter who the opponent is.
