Got to see a really good 8 man game last week. They are always wild but SE Warren beat East Mills with a double reverse flea flicker. 5 of the 8 Se Warren players in the field touched the ball on the play. Crazy.

who has the longest drive Friday? Hull to Parkersburg? That’s gotta be well over 4 hours on a bus, one way.

Ridiculous pod. Google maps says right under 4. Then if AP wins they get to go out to West Sioux the next week

Harlan will be a strong candidate for the 3A title yet again. Their only loss was to Lewis Central and that was close if I remember correctly. They also beat ADM like 41-3.

Ida Grove to Osage is well over 3 on a bus.

They sent Iowa Falls all the way out to Central Lyon last week.

Medium sized schools out west are just inherently on an island.

We are driving from Clarinda to Rock Rapids........We are 5 miles from Missouri and Rock Rapids is 4 miles from Minnesota. Google maps says 248 miles (3 hours and 57 minutes).

Pretty crappy to make Indianola and Bondurant play 1st round when they were in the same district.
Cedar Rapids, Washington and Xavier were in the same district too if that makes you feel better. I guess the IHSAA opted to give the teams in that pod shorter drives rather than new opponents.

If they flipped those teams, there would be potential for a team to have to go from DSM area to Cedar Rapids for two games in a row or vice versa. No sure fire or simple way to choose playoff matchups.

How many Casey's do you think you drive by? We should all guess and you report back on Saturday. I'll say 17.

Seems high. There's a long stretch of I-29 with no towns.

Assuming, of course, that you mean "drive by" as in "hey pull in I want a slice" and not "it's only a mile and a half from this exit".
