Yeah if they know they have proven enough to land somewhere better/different, I think it will spread. From underperforming teams of course.
KIng had to deal with 2nd transfer rules. They are probably OK with 1st transfer.
But do they retain a year of eligibility for sitting out? I guess I’m assuming they can RS if only played in four games?

Why should adult athletes be treated differently than adult coaches on where they want to be?
When we have an epidemic of coaches quitting midseason maybe that should be addressed as well.
I’m sure schools would be willing to have the players pay a buyout like coaches have to(or the new school pay the buyout). Might cause some problems if they decide to transfer and have to eat the money themselves if a bigger school doesn’t want them though, especially if they have to transfer down a level.

I don't see this as an unintended consequence at all. I have zero issue with a player using the existing rules to their own maximum benefit.
Why would that matter. Adult athletes only get X years to play, adult coaches get, essentially , as many years to coach as they please. To spin it back, should we only allow coaches 4-5 years to coach.
