10. K-State - couldn't shoot the ball in the Pacific if standing atop the Santa Monica pier.

Bruce throwing his players under the bus:

“They all thought it was going to be easier than it was,” Weber said. “I used the words consistency, dependable and efficiency, and that was back in August. Right now, we are not consistent, we are not dependable, and we are not efficient.

“Somebody else has to have a voice,” Weber said. “Emotion, we have got to have some emotion. It has got to come from someone besides me. If me and the coaches have to bring the emotion every day in practice, we are in trouble. It is going to be a long season. That’s got to come. That’s got to come over the course of time.”

If you go by KenPom. ISU is 4th in the B12 now after beating Seton Hall.
1- KU
2-Baylor
3-TT
4-ISU
Didn't bother to look at the rest.

B12 is down this year as far as these rankings go. Yes it is early, but I thought B12 has been tight in the top 30 for past couple of years.

Sig, I watched ISU last night and thought they looked good versus an excellent albeit damaged Hall. I'd guess they'll finish in the upper half. I have zero confidence in Shaka Smart, so would put ISU there and vice versa.

That seems right today.

1. Kansas - no explanation needed.
2. Baylor - tough team with good wins.
3. Texas - could put a few teams here but they have been solid.
4. Oklahoma St - they aren’t real good with Likelele out l, but once he’s back they’ll be top 5.
5. Oklahoma
6. Iowa St - tough losses early, but the players are there.
7. West Virginia - tough team but I’m not convinced yet
8. Texas Tech - they’ll climb up, but they aren’t great right now.
9. TCU - a couple close losses, don’t see them finishing higher than 8th.
10. Kansas St - Weber has his work cut out for him. They can’t score.

Kind of a crapshoot 3 thru 8.

I always appreciate an honest coach. Hope they continue to struggle yet beat KU.

Whole-hearted agree with Shaka assessment...unless he can prove otherwise it's just another year of meh Longhorn bball.

This is a mess and I know there's no way Texas will stay that high or Tech will stay that low during conference play but from what we've seen this season this feels accurate. And yes I am a homer.

Sounds like KSU could really use a Melvin Ejim on that team. Somebody screws around in practice and he's got a basketball in his ear courtesy of Mr. Ejim.

That is friendly of you.

I have very little separation between #4 and #8, though, so you can easily make a case for Iowa State to be at the top (or the bottom) of that stack.

The rematch with Seton Hall was easily our best game of the season so far. We have not consistently played that well so far, though, even including the game against Alabama where we shot the lights out, so I am being cautiously optimistic for now.

I think finishing 9-9 or 10-8 in the Big 12 and making the NCAA tournament is a fair projection for Iowa State, and I hope we accomplish that if not a little bit more this year.

The conference is weaker than it has been in years...

Bruce Weber reminds me of Tim Floyd. They will win a game or two that they shouldn't by slowing the game down so much that the final score ends up 47-45 or something like that.
You mean Weber focuses on defense because he believes it's half or more of the game and travels well.
