Texas Tech 10 Million Dollar Portal Season

What kind of shape is Jirehl Brock in? Is he interested in coming back?

We need more depth at running back.

Just wait for some RBs to get cut during NFL training camp and bring them in. Granted we would find the one judge that would stand by the ruling...

Problem is the NCAA doesn’t control the playoffs.
Well the CFP could set the rule if the conferences agree to it. They all agreed to have a spending cap and as Pollard said, spent millions of dollars to start the CSC. So all the conferences seem to at least WANT rules. Make access to the CFP the way to enforce it.

Sorsby's problem is he needed this ruling to come out in August. It coming out now gives the NCAA and the Big 12 way too much time to respond.

No football game = No TV Money for that game. Not only that, your TV partners are likely going to sue you.

That strategy would blow up like CRAZY should games start getting cancelled simply because teams don't want to play Tech. We need someone who has familiarity with the Big 12 bylaws to see if this strategy would even be possible without violating some sort of clause or something.

He's saying the conference/schools should file in on behalf of the NCAA (somewhat because the other schools are directly impacted by the ruling also) when the NCAA tries to appeal the injunction.
Say Ariz State plays TTU and loses. That loss keeps them out of the playoffs but then the NCAA wins on appeal and vacates the win. Ariz State is done irreparable harm.
I mean any reasonable or unbiased person would say he was ineligible......

I wonder if the 15 other ADs have the stomach to give tech the ultimatum: you agree not to play Sorsby or you forfeit your membership in the Big 12. Right now, I don’t think Texas Tech has any friends in the SEC or Big 10 even if they tried to buy their way in.

That part probably doesn't matter since the NCAA doesn't own the Playoff. But, I'm sure the schools can come up with other ways they were materially-harmed along similar lines.
