CW POD: Is pro wrestling fun again?

Absolutely loved Punk vs. Roman. both guys were incredible. WWE just feels bigger when Reigns has a belt....personally I think it adds the allure and prestige that he is not there weekly. it creates the "you are lucky i show up" vibe and when he does you dont wanna miss it.

You might want to rethink how much wrestling CM Punk is actually going to do going forward. Yes, he's worked a lot since returning to WWE. I don't think that will be the case going forward.

WWE's biggest problem is their current big-time superstars are:
1. retired or on their way to being retired (Undertaker, Lesnar, HHH, Michaels, Cena, Styles, Austin, The Rock)
2. aging/health problems (Punk, Reigns, Orton, Owens, and you can probably put Rollins here as well)
3. not exactly over with a number of the fans at the moment (Rhodes, and you can probably put Rollins here as well, even if he was popped for circumstance yesterday)
4. probably not quite ready yet (Femi)

So... who are you putting your major belts on?
Gunther, Bron Breakker maybe. Hell, give LA Knight a shot. He's pretty over with the fans.

I feel like Fatu could be close but he was on a meteoric rise and has plateaued a bit. He also hasn’t been in the business for 30 years and doesn’t look like he belongs in Hollywood so they could hold him back.

I feel like in general the best way to build is through factions. It’s very tough to become a star in the WWE on your own. Randy had Evolution, Reigns had Shield then Bloodline to get him over, Cody was terrible and had to go away and become a star at the enemy company.

Ill always be ready for a Miz run lol. Dude has spent his career letting himself be the butt of jokes.

Also did appreciate Brock putting Oba over. Im hoping for an Oba Heyman team down the road.

The biggest problem with LA Knight is that eventually the bell rings...

It's hard to find a unicorn. Ultimately there's three phases of a wrestler that I care about. 1. Does the gimmick work? Does it pull you in? 2. Mic skills. 3. Wrestling ability.

The good ones have two of the three....the elite ones have all three.

Something I read seemed to imply that the “industry” is asking everyone to take a 50 percent cut in income.

Can that possibly be true?

I heard some but I feel like it's the ones that aren't really doing anything on tv
