Is there a movie star that you really don't care for?

Anne Hathaway for me which is weird because I LOVE Anna Kendrick and they are very similar in many ways.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen in a print was a review of a Vin Diesel movie when the writer compared his range to being that of a hippopotamus lying in the sun. I definitely agreed with that, although I do like his voice acting.

Personally I also think Johnny Depp is a bit overrated. I don't think he's bad necessarily, but his characters are always wacky and eccentric (think Jack Sparrow). I would like to see him play a father of two living in the suburbs before I can give him his flowers as being a truly great actor.

We've kinda run aground on the just playing themselves thing.

It's what it is.

Is there a bonafide movie star or A-lister that is or has been incredibly popular making many movies that made bank at the box office that you just don't like at all? This is mainly for leading roles.

Independence Day is on right now and man is it not good after a few decades. I honestly can't think of a blockbuster movie that I love that Will Smith is in. He CAN be good in dramatic roles but for the most part I think he's a pretty horrible actor.

I'll say Renee Zellweger, Shia LeBouf, and Adam Sandler. Sandler plays pretty much the same petulant child in a human's body in nearly everything he does. I guess the exceptions would be 50 First Dates, Wedding Singer and that jeweler film he did a few years ago. I generally can't rewatch those movies he has done were he acts like a kid. It's maybe funny the first time but after doing the same thing dozens of times it gets old.

Vin Diesel was the only cast member of Saving Private Ryan who said that the actual mini bootcamp the cast did before the filming was a waste of time and he hated it. He has no interest in putting any effort into his films and it shows.

I'm not always a fan of Johnny Depp but I have to say he has a knack for playing quirky characters well. He has played a wide range and he doesn't always play the same character like say - Nick Cage. When Nick sold his soul to the devil the devil asked if he wanted to be a good actor and Nick obviously said, "No, just make me a star."

Adam Sandler is an interesting one for me. I can remember thinking his movies were hilarious when they first came out. Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, Waterboy, etc. Now as I rewatch them, I can't figure how I ever found them to be funny. Part of it is likely growing older, but I also think it's indicative of how comedy has changed over the years.

Russell Crowe. An absolute sh!t human being. And while we're in the Russell mode, let's bring up what a moron Russell Brand is.
