What's streaming that's good TV/movies

I kept seeing reviews and promos on how good the new series on Netflix from the Duffer Bros (Stranger Things) new series Something Very Bad is Going to Happen was. Gave it shot. Bored to tears after 4 episodes. Won't finish it.

currently watching it

Malcolm in the Middle: Life Is Still Unfair mini series on HULU is great if you're a fan on the original. Much better than That 90s Show reboot. There is a certain scene in ep 3 that had me rolling. I really hope this was a backdoor market test, because 4 episodes didn't feel like nearly enough.

And Last Samurai Standing on Netflix. Three or so episodes in and will keep watching. Dubbed from Japanese but well dubbed so not an issue for me.

This is probably better suited for the MCU thread, but is anyone else watching "Daredevil; Born Again"? Easily one of the best shows ever for the Marvel universe.

Just watched "She Came to Me" on Prime. It's a quirky comedy with a very unlikely plot...Peter Dinklage plays a composer who married his OCD psychiatrist (also an unlikely Anne Hathaway). His character suffers writer's block but a chance encounter with a tugboat captain (Marisa Tomei) who is also a sex and romance addict winds up inspiring him to write a hit opera.

Not a horrible way to spend a couple of hours. Very last shot of the movie was the funniest part.

Started watching a German spy/drama series Unfamiliar on Netflix last night. 1.5 episodes in and pretty promising. You have the choice of dubbed or subtitles so take your pick. I opted for the dubbing as it's pretty well matched to the main characters. BTW, softening my position on dubbing, at least situationally, since some of it is really well done these days.

Kept seeing solid reviews for the new Apple TV series Widow's Bay. It finally dropped tonight. We all are sucked in already. Hard to describe but it's like a cross between Schitt's Creek/Mare of Eastown/horror. But it works. Pretty funny and pretty scary. A rarity.

Yep, we watched episode 1 as well, and I think it has some potential

This is probably already in this thread, but I recently jumped into AppleTV and I've gotten hooked on the Silo series. First season was great, not sure if Season 2 is going to hold up (I'm halfway in) but I see that Season 3 is on tap for this year, so hoping for the best. Doesn't hurt that Rebecca Ferguson is the main character.

The 4 part Netflix special on Hulk Hogan was really good and I was never into the WWE experience.
He had 10 back surgeries. Wow!

Widow Bay has really good writing and the actors chosen were spot on. They feel real, the dialogue kills me. The mayor loathes the town but wants to see it get better. The way his snark just rolls out is the best, like hes just so exhausted by its people.

I thought Season 1 was fantastic but Season 2 stumbled a bit. Season 3 looks promising with the backstory of how it all came to be.
