**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

Johnson
Toure
Momcilovic
Singleton
Buchanan

Batemon, Bond, Pleta, Manning

Is that the floor for this team if Momcilovic is back? If any other transfers or freshman break into that rotation we are in fricken business! Christian Wiggins and Rinaldo-Komlan may have something to say about that.

Quick summary of the 4 guys that committed -
Johnson: short, sturdy PG with a decent shot. Defensive player of the year in the MVC, great A:T ratio. Basically a Lipsey replacement. 2 years to play.

Bond: 6’5” wing who can score and defend. More athletic and scoring focused than Heise, maybe not quite the defender and rebounder. Will likely play the Heise roll. One year to play.

Singleton: scarily similar profile to Jefferson. Can score, rebound, pass and defend at 6’8”. Slots directly into the Jefferson role - although it may take another year to really fill out his game. Has 3 years to play.

Manning: 6’7” athletic defender and rebounder. Not a scorer, really, but a very good offensive rebounder. Great team player (according to Fran Francella). Replaces Mulder, but is the backup ‘4’ we didn’t have this year.

I was just thinking this is the deepest roster TJ has had. Not sure how the incoming freshmen will perform, but it is looking like a 9-10 man rotation next year

Which means TJ’s defense can be even more aggressive as they will have the depth for foul trouble of an individual player

The group of 8 we have coming back might not be as talented as the last two years but you can argue it's more physical and athletic. Should be just as good defensively and having 4 legit Big 12 posts will be something we haven't really had.

TJ rarely misses on a portal signing so this should make us feel comfortable that the guys we're bringing in are going fit in and fill valuable roles. The caliber of guys we are signing have been getting better every year too. These aren't unknown guys these are guys that other quality program would like to have too. Getting Singleton and Johnson on the same day is impressive as they surely had multiple P4 schools interested in them. They also fit the mold of guys they are likely replacing in Lipsey and Jefferson and we have seen how TJ and his staff have a track record of elevating the play of guys that have come into the program.

I would love to have Milan back with the roster we have now but I'm sure TJ already has a contingency plan in plan if he doesn't. Feels like we must have the necessary resources for all this to happen so quickly so I'm not worried one way or another.

We should have room given 15 scholarship spots. If Prather commits, we still have one open spot for Milan.

Bond may end up being a better defender than Heise. He was on the MVC all defensive team last year.
