I attended Texas in 2017. Sea of empty seats around me and a flat crowd. Weekday games suck.Based on the responses so far I’m definitely in the minority here but I loved when we had Thursday/Friday home games

Because a game is being played on a Friday night?Does anyone ever look around at college sports and wonder what the hell we are doing?
I suppose if you are local, those games are great, but when you have to drive a couple of hours or more, they made it impossible to get to the games, go back home and then not be dead the next day at work for Thursday games. I never got to see a Thursday nite game from the stands, always had to watch them on TV, just could not make it work before I retired.Based on the responses so far I’m definitely in the minority here but I loved when we had Thursday/Friday home games
The BYU game follows ISU hosting WVU and leads into the bye week, then the UCF game will be sandwiched between Cinci and KSU, both at home. Not terrible all things considered.I don't love that we are getting delt two short turnaround weeks though. Everything gets shortened plus we have to go on the road.
As someone that likes to be asleep by 9pm - not a fanAs a HS football ref, really hope the BYU game is a late night kick

For a lot of things, yes, for Friday Night Games, no, not really. It wasn't that long ago we always had one Thursday night game a year. Friday isn't that bad at all compared to Thursday.Does anyone ever look around at college sports and wonder what the hell we are doing?
I mean Pollard used to willingly schedule Thursday night season openers that weren't even televised. I would argue that was way worse.
At that time (2006-10) there was a better chance of getting people to a Thursday night game than a 1:00 Saturday game on Labor Day weekend.
