2nd round picks don't get guaranteed contracts. By definition, NBA scouts aren't 'sold' on 2nd round picks.
2nd round picks can negotiate their contracts and if the team is willing get guaranteed money/roster spot which can be promised prior to the draft. The AJ Green situation that TJ is preparing to avoid. The money Milan could get in NIL is different now than at that time so exactly the same. Milian has options and I understand him wanting to have the information before making that decision. Issue is the portal waits for no one.

Many do though. Last year only 6 of the 29 second-round picks did not sign a guaranteed contract.

The last 6 years almost 70% of second rounders signed at least a 1-year guaranteed contract of $2M+.

Not necessarily. He can play off guard coming off the bench, especially with his assist to turnover ratio.

By all accounts, Milan has already had his sit-down with TJ and now ISU is bringing in big shooting wings, not a good sign for Milan's return. Every NBA mock I've seen has him mid-2nd round, so not sure why he'd leave college. NIL money will be better and is guaranteed. Then again, maybe the guy just wants to spread his wings.
To get feedback from NBA?

IMO, Milan's best NBA possibility right now is the AJ Green route, where he's promised a 2-way deal by a specific team, whether they draft him or UFA. It definitely worked out for Green.

Except now the money these players make on 2 way deals is dwarfed by some of these NIL deals in college. During the AJ green situation, the money was much different

They are not automatically guaranteed but they can have signficant guarantees built in to them, for example per google Micah Peavy (Pick 40) got a 4 year deal with the first two years guaranteed (roughly 3.5 million guaranteed) and Tyrese Proctor (pick 49) also got a 4 year deal with the first two years guaranteed, the third year partially guaranteed, and the fourth being a team option.

Jaquan Johnson is a name I hadn't looked up before - he led the MVC in steals plus shot 38% from 3 on 4 attempts a game. Scored 17ppg, with 4 boards, 4 assists and a 2.6 assists to TO rate.

He's under 6' though - not typical of a TJ guard. 2 years of eligibility remaining.
There have been a few posts about him up thread (I know, because I’ve posted a couple myself :) )

He’s a take IMO. Under 6’, but is thick. Very good on ball defender and strong with the ball.
