Potential assistant men's basketball coaches

Seems as though he's a offense type guy which would be really nice. Wonder who they would get to be the defense side.

So help me out here. Who is Tim Buckley and tell me why he smokes 2 packs a day. I’m joking, he just looks like he does

Was on Tom Creans staff at Indiana for several years and recently was on Wes Millers staff at Cincy. Wes just got let go so Tim was looking for a job. Seems like he'd be a good fit as he has spent the majority of his career in the Midwest, was born in the Midwest, and likely knows what it takes to win here.

He was an assistant under Otz at UNLV.

No, but its something that could hurt in recruiting. Everyone else is announcing extensions in the conference and ISU is just sitting there not announcing anything.
Recruiting has become, more or less. transactional. This isn't the pre-NIL days.

Agree. Have heard several prominent coaches say that first question now is ‘What’s your number?’ Only after there’s agreement there, then a visit can be scheduled. Gotta believe this applies to the big dogs though, not all players.

He’s most known for his time at Indiana, working under Tom Crean during his entire nine year tenure as the associate head coach. While in Bloomington, he earned the nickname the Shot Doctorfor his work in developing the Hoosiers into one of the best shooting programs in the country.

Hopefully this means he can help solve our free thrown issues!!

lol he’s already signed to 2032. It has hardly any bearing on recruiting that an extension hasn’t been signed yet

Relationships and confidence in development still matter, especially when you're trying to do more with less like at ISU. Jefferson, Tamin and Milan turned down an aggregate of like $2mil to stay with TJ and staff last year

To stay? Yes. Getting them into the program is a totally different world.

Also, don't fall for the poor, poor pitiful Iowa State stuff. They're throwing cash around with all but the tippy top.

For getting players into the program it helps to be able to sell stability and multi-year development, especially when you look at the trend of second-year leaps being much bigger than 1-year transfers.

Sure sound like resources are in a good spot this year, but we still want the players who are thinking long term. Portaling and moving is a distraction and a pain in the ass. I know someone going through it now.

TJ is currently signed to 2032…..
