With how aggressive Cook was at NDSU, it's kind of hard for me to see him and Jamie co-existing very well. There was literally no 'we can't do that up there'. They always found a way and I think he's going to expect that here as well.

Cook has already swayed JP on how RevShare/NIL is going to be managed for MBB.With how aggressive Cook was at NDSU, it's kind of hard for me to see him and Jamie co-existing very well. It’s always the same people, lol. He does no right for them.If he doesn't make a public statement, peope complain loudly. If he does, people complain loudly. Weirdly it is some of the same people.
This is dumb, and you should feel dumb. The more I hear JP talk, the more I think it's time he gets the McCarney treatment: "We greatly thank you for all you have done here, but we need someone to take us to the next level...."
You can appreciate someone's accomplishments and still need new leadership for the next phase.
Do I need to make it simpler for those of you who process more slowly and are living in the last decade? Your response may take the cake for dumb! This is dumb, and you should feel dumb.
That's interesting info since I saw JP talking with the ladies team at an NIL fundraiser two years ago.I know for a fact that JP has never talked to several of the top WBB players in the 3 years they have been there. Never has even introduced himself to them. so take it for what its worth on the GREAT JP and how he feels about the players on the WBB team.
He can be loyal to Fennelly and still hold exit interviews with every player that is transferring out. I would think any AD would want to hold the interviews or have someone from the AD office do it, to keep track of any problems that may be happening in all our athletic programs. Now the players may not be truthful but we will never know if there is a problem if we do not try and at least look. That would take JP contacting the players, and talking to them individually about their reason(s). Just can’t see him doing that. As his video demonstrates JP is very loyal to Fennelly

It could also be the women’s ADI do believe that they hold exit interviews with the players - but it may be someone outside of the athletic dept.
I wonder how honest people are in the interviews. I wouldn’t want to burn any bridges.I do believe that they hold exit interviews with the players - but it may be someone outside of the athletic dept.

The problem with that is it doesn't seem like JP really thinks this is all that big of a problem. Based on what he said, he just sees a mass exodus as "part of the system" now.He can be loyal to Fennelly and still hold exit interviews with every player that is transferring out. I remember him complaining at one point that student athletes should be happy/greatful they’re getting scholarships. I know it’s nothing new, but it doesn’t make it any less frustrating
State of the unions are like message board posts, short and to the point is always better.Yep.
And in general, the longer a Presidential state of the union...the worse or more scandalous I tend to believe things are. (I think the longest ones belong to Trump, Clinton, & Carter) all had/have major issues or scandals going on.
I also think it's bad sign when they are incredibly short too fwiw (Nixon had the shortest in modern times.)
Pollard needs to find a sweet spot/middle ground for these videos to Cyclone Nation. A medium length video once or twice a year would be great. I agree they're becoming too frequent.
The good thing about his "state of the unions" is he doesn't have to stop constantly for excessive applause or heckling, lol.
Don’t disagree, but it’s also hard to see it that way from their perspective when the coaches are making millions while the players (back then) would get into serious compliance trouble for accepting a Cheeseburger.I have a kid in college. He has scholarships, but it's still pricey and he'll be paying off loans for while after he graduates.
A free ride plus everything else they got before NIL wasn't nothing.
Sure Bill. Let's start with the zero buy out clause, followed by the no nepotism clause, then the longevity bonus claw back.I've heard from a pretty reliable source that he is pushing for an extension to help recruiting. If Jamie agrees to that he is basically delaying the rebuild and cratering the program. Let him coach next year to honor contract and save a few $ and then completely clean house with young hungry staff. I donate specifically to WBB but will be done if this staff is here after next season.
With a soundtrack like an HR training video.Anyone who authorizes, films, edits, scripts, or otherwise touches videos focusing Jamie Pollard needs to be fired. Every single one of these is a hostage proof-of-life video.
Message boards are for discussion. State of the unions are not.State of the unions are like message board posts, short and to the point is always better.
