Dom Nelson - The Defibrillator

You can get triple doubles without being “the guy” to get a bucket when needed. I would not trust him with the ball in his hands, having to drive to the basket to make a play in crunch time. He just has shown time and time again he will turn it over or get it blocked more often than not in situations like that against remotely competent defenses.
I couldn’t disagree more. We literally go to him to stop runs when needed. We did last year and this year too.

I think (respectefully) that what you might be seeing here relates to my post upthread. Some of Jefferson's turnovers are particularly ugly/WTF-looking and I think this gives a misleading impression of how much he turns it over or his "clutch" ability. He has gotten us plenty of buckets in plenty of important moments.

2nd half: 7 points in the first 4 minutes, then The Defibrillator walks to the scorers table. 17 points in the next 4 minutes. 46 points in the last 16 minutes of the 2nd half.

Its uncanny.

Happened at Purdue too in one of the most hostile environments in college hoops. We're going to need "more" now from everyone. Anything Dom chips in helps the cause. It's his last go-around and more obscure dudes have stepped up and had great Tourneys in the past.

It's time.

So, The Defibrillator checks in and Iowa State goes bonkers for a few minutes, but this was a game that the patient needed a 2nd jolt. 5 points for the patient in the final minute.

Patient was fine in the 2nd half, so no need for The Defibrillator.

Has the coaching staff figured out the proper usage of The Defibrillator?
