*** Official #7 IOWA STATE vs #2 Arizona Game(Day) Thread ***

No doubt, this team is playing with a chip on their shoulder whereas it seemed like they were in a fog during the dog days of the conference season. We all knew they were capable of more and they're showing it now.
And this team (and the entire program) is at their best when they play with a chip on their shoulder!

My one worry with the NCAA Tournament is that Iowa State usually plays very well at the Hilton South tournament riding the wave of their crowd then tend to have letdowns in the big tournament. I think this team is better equipped to handle it because of the experience of the core and, most importantly, because they're healthy unlike some previous years but their overall play is night and day better now than it was a couple of weeks ago and should give us confidence that they can make a run at this.
But, if we’re in St. Louis I think we’ll have a great crowd, and then people will travel to a potential S16/E8.

Plus, it sounded like there was a pretty strong Arizona crowd there too last night

I think a large number of KU fans were cheering against us. We were seen as the team they’d rather play in the championship. That didn’t work out too well for KBoo.

Slapping his chest. screaming as if he sacked the QB in the Super Bowl, & jawing it up & celebrating with his bench players during a live ball is why Del Orso is a major douche of a player. Didn't see Milan do anything like that (gyrating celebrations after making shots) - because he does it all the time.
Yeah, he had 20+ in 5 other games - then f'ing act like it.

Now y'all get the Hell off my lawn

Yeah heaven forbid a guy has fun playing basketball

To anyone questioning how good Arizona is and whether they are one favorites to win the natty, let me say this: “They beat us with their top scores combining for seven points, and ISU playing great.” Hope we don’t face them again.
Play them in the championship game would be OK. They are loaded, the amount of international talent they bring in each year and their size is hard to deal with. They are having their way with Houston. They just have so many players that can get you 20 points on a night.

Iowa State have always travelled well but nothing like they are in Kansas City.

No problem with the ice in veins, 3 fingers all which ways, flexing after an And-1, and all the other on-court, celebratory actions. Deluroso went way beyond that and his frozen pizzas are more over rated than his game.

I'm still so mad about this.

They hit so much late-clock hero-ball slop.

Eventually I'll get over it.

Sure, it still stings, and we all wanted that Big 12 title, but when you come to terms that this means one less game Lipsey has to play with his tweaked groin, especially since we’re anticipating a deep tourney run this year, I’m basically over it.

I said Groin. It looked like Groin.

Tamin did the Tamin Groin pull twice…..

But Dan Shulman said Ankle during the Kansas Houston game.

Do we actually know what it was?

There was also

When Dell orso Standing over Tamin after Krivas Blocked Tamin’s Shot and Krivas bodied him to the ground.

Dell’ Orso stood over him that was borderline taunting.

Punchable offense.

You might want to go to the doctor - your boner for KC has exceeded 4 hours.

KC wasn’t even an option for the tourney this year, so quit bringing it up - we’re going to travel to Sr. Louis just fine.
