KJ had never been a college coach iirc.Yep and you could argue he did the same when he turned the wrestling program over to Cael in 2006.

Yeah, she’s definitely ignorant when it comes to her claim about the coaching questionSo you’re calling an accomplished ISU gymnast, who won the Big 12 all-around title as a freshman (yes over KJ’s Sooners) “ignorant.”
Gotcha…
Kinda think she has more insight into this than you do.

What BS. Jamie hires all head coaches. He didn't make the hire, Calli Sanders did. Shove your unsubstantiated hate for Jamie somewhere else.
Breaking news: she was the asst coach under Amy Pyle…KJ had never been a college coach iirc.

OK, it’s not really nice to call KJ she and what wrestling program did Amy Pyle coach?Breaking news: she was the asst coach under Amy Pyle…
Even if someone likes basketball, it's a sport dominated by tall people. Even though she's young, I can tell my daughter is unlikely to find much success in basketball and more likely to enjoy participating in and watching gymnastics.Does she like basketball? Just sayin. That won't go away.
He signed off, yes, but he did not make the hire. What BS. Jamie hires all head coaches.
If you look at Gymnastics, Softball, Volleyball, Golf, and Soccer as comps, equipment/uniforms/supplies is between $68k-$110k, travel is between $190k-$412k, non-travel meals is between $127k-$237k, recruiting is between $18k-72k, games expenses is between $37k-95k, and other operating expenses between $27k-$46k. So a rock bottom number that doesn't include coaches comp, scholarships, facilities, and overhead/risk management is $500,000.I was just kind of going off with gymnastics had for expenses, and they can’t have too much and travel and other stuff due to what the scholarships coaching and equipment on insurance all that stuff would cost.
I was also looking at the other teams with women’s wrestling. A lot were around Iowa so I figured vans or a bus for travel. Blatantly falseWhat BS. Jamie hires all head coaches.
I was at the Utah meet (which oddly enough will go down as the last home meet in school history), and I'd say there was probably about 3k there. Utah also had a decent showing of fans, but they take their program pretty seriously, so it makes sense they have a decent following on the road. This really sucks for the kids and people that really are into gymnastics but really how many people were attending the sport when we had a meet?
I guess it's just human nature to complain about change, but the program was struggling, and money is tight throughout the athletic department. Sure I would love for ISU to have a great gymnastic program and bring back baseball, but I also understand that in the times we are a living, they cost a lot of money which we do not have and few people are attending their meets. Just be happy we could afford to have it when we did.
One less facility since we already have the wrestling room. Might be able to have both use it? 10 schollys at 30k each and 2-3 coaches at 500k total would be a savings of 1 MM if you throw in 100-200k for travel and incidentals.
Paying our FB and MBB a competitive P4 wage directly benefits the AD and the university. That’s for the benefit of the football and men’s basketball players, not ISU
Nah, the buck stops at the AD for all hires of head coaches. He didn't make the hire, Calli Sanders did. Shove your unsubstantiated hate for Jamie somewhere else.
