So I spent 8 days over Thanksgiving at brother-in-law's house South of Norman OK. They live in the Washington, OK school district which is where Cooper Alexander and Major Cantrell are from. I wore a lot of ISU gear and in the span of the trip I was approached at least 4 times by locals reminding me of these two players. It was apparent that most of them are following ISU very closely and all were very complimentary of Campbell and the program overall. Cool to see we are picking up fans all over.

There truly are Cyclones everywhere. I gave out a lot of Cyclone high fives at Sky Harbor over Thanksgiving travels.

My coworker went to KU but sent both sons to ISU for engineering. He's attended games at Hilton and Trice and he's said nothing but good things about Ames and our fans. He probably won't fully switch to the good guys, but he knows quite a bit about both squads and will talk to me about games from time to time.

We're making progress.

Ran into Nate Heise's mom at one of the State Park trail heads along the North Shore of Lake Superior this past summer. Enjoyed talking to her for the few minutes we chatted there.
Hell of a family. We watched most of his sister's hockey game last night. She plays for the Minnesota Frost in the professional PWHL. Taylor is a hell of a player and one of the faces of the team. Also plays on the US women's national team.

That's true here in NW Arkansas as well. A lot of of Arkansas fans have stopped me to talk about ISU football and I'm surprised that a lot of them are familiar with a lot of our players.

Is that what they call it nowadays? “We chatted”

I wear ISU gear whenever I travel out of state and always make sure to rep the colors as best as I can. Always seem to get a lot of "Go State" or " Go Clones" in AZ, FL, TX the most. (outside the midwest/states surrounding Iowa of course.)

Didn't seem to get many that noticed in CA or in NY (other than quite a few in Ithaca, NY at Cornell vet school).

This is one of my favorite things about Iowa State fans. They are everywhere. Heading up to DFW for the game this weekend and plan on meeting a few. Would be cool to bump into someone in Vegas next week for the Cy-Hawk basketball game. Think I am going to head to Circa to watch it.

David Carr’s mom started a conversation with me at ohare a few years ago when she saw I had an ISU sweater on. Said she had a son on the team.

I don’t follow wrestling so didn’t know he was a star until I looked him up after, super nice lady and had a lot of nice things to say about ISU

Her husband was a star as well!

Pretty sure she went to ISU too.

I got some "Go State" or "Go Cyclones" the last couple times I've been in England. Not sure where they were from in the States, but that was good enough for me.

Went to Hawaii for a week in January and surprisingly got zero acknowledgment from anyone there.

On the plus side, I went to KC in March and got lots of recognition there.

Two years ago my family went on vacation to Turks & Caicos, and at the airport there was a guy who stopped me just to say go Cyclones and that he loves watching Brock Purdy. I think he was just a general sports fan from California.

The Cyclone brand is definitely growing.

I'm going to be in Vegas next week, didn't even hit me Cy-Hawk game watch needs to be factored in. Probably will end up at Caesars sportsbook. I watched an ISU/KU game there years ago, ISU had a sick comeback win at Hilton and as some early loud and happy but end of game salty KU fans walked by me in my ISU gear, one guy mumbled "I f****** hate playing at Hilton". Could not wipe the smile off my face after that.
