Should just flat out be illegal. I have a wedding Saturday and will miss most of the game. Oh except when I miss most of the reception because myself and the other guys will be in the bar area watching the game. When are people gonna learn to get married in the Spring. Sorry had to vent.

A number of years ago, I had a cousin get married during the ISU/Iowa game. The game was in Iowa City, so we didn't miss out on a home game. I have several Iowa fans that I'm unfortunately related to and a good portion of the attendees were invested in the game, drinking heavily and giving each other crap.

The good guys won, and it was honestly one of the most fun receptions I've ever been to.

Don't go to the wedding. Problem solved

Eons ago one of my brothers' buddies got married the day of the Iowa State/Iowa game. One of the ushers was a huge Iowa fan and he wore a hawk hat and had a transistor radio with an ear piece. During the ceremony he wore his hat frontwards when iowa was ahead and backwards when ISU was up. I think the bride was pissed that most of the congregation was constantly turning around in the sanctuary to "check the score".

Yeah, that’s kind of my thought too. If missing a game due to a wedding is this much of an inconvenience and causes this much angst, then don’t go to the wedding. Sure, it may impact the relationship, but you aren’t super close to the couple so who cares?

You can't be mad at me for having the game on my phone at the reception.

Got married during the 2001 ISU at Mizzou football game. We had to delay the wedding a few minutes as we were listening to the game on the radio in the basement of the church and had the Pastor say a prayer on Mizzous 4th down play.

I've been to two weddings that took were during Cy-Hawk games. Cyclones won both of those games (2012 and 2015). I'll gladly sit through a wedding ceremony if it means a Cyclone victory.

To be fair, the 2015 wedding was supposed to have a different date, but had to get moved because the reception hall closed up and the couple had to scramble to find a reception venue.

People can get married when they want to - you can deal with missing a game of 18-22 years olds running into each other for 3 hours
