'People are flat-out slobs': Jamie Pollard

This is one of those threads that makes me wish there was an ignore feature on threads. Damn thing won't die.

Look that is the spread that AI stated on google, you don't; believe it, take it up with them. I did find this article today on ESPN.

The Big 12's West Virginia, with a budget of more than $80 million, began beer sales in 2011 in part to counter a problem with drunken fans coming and going from tailgate parties during games. Fans no longer are allowed to re-enter the stadium once they leave.

Beer sales have produced no less than $516,000 each of the past three years for West Virginia, and campus police report that alcohol-related incidents at Mountaineer Field have declined sharply.

So WV is bringing in an extra half million a year from alcohol, that is a half million that we are not.

Which equates to *0.645% of their yearly budget.

*corrected

So your point is what?

That numerous posters over value the potential profit, by a lot.

And as if I need to repeat, I couldn’t care less about if Iowa State does or does not serve beer. I think it’ll happen down the line anyways. I’m just merely pointing out the number of heavily misguided opinions about the actuality of profit.

I’ve read most of this thread and the same arguments have been made in others. In addition, people have expressed their desires for other changes in JTS and Hilton. It seems obvious to me that there will be no change as long as ticket sales and donations remain robust. If and when people stop coming to games, the AD will start to worry about what people want. I’m old, but it seems to me that younger people expect amenities, so change will come.
