As a Cyclone fan, I'd love Lazard. I don't know if he'd be the best option for the Vikings, but it sure would make me happy.

Once everyone is back, Lazard as WR3 wouldn't be bad. He's a really good blocker, too.

If I take off my Cyclone glasses, a reunion with Thielen would be nice.

Love them both... but at this point I don't know how much gas Thielen has. Kinda leaning Lazard for the reasons you suggested.

Most Viking fans I know would like this, people loved him when he was there
I would guess that's the plan. They've picked up a few late round picks which is probably enough to make it happen. He's not a game changer, but he knows the system and as long as he's willing to be the #3 or #4 option once everyone is back, it seems like a no-brainer.

Money is also an issue. A lot to spend for a #3 or #4 receiver.

The Wentz signing is ………… interesting. If not worrisome.
They could have signed Wentz when they traded for Howell. I'm curious what the thought process was at the time. It could be just wanting some experience in the room and Howell wasn't picking up the playbook...or what we are all thinking. There is some doubt regarding JJ and this is a hedge.

I wonder if it's more about the leadership and mentoring aspect. The other two quarterbacks in the room are a guy who is making his first NFL start in less than 2 weeks and an undrafted rookie who came out of nowhere to almost certainly make the active 53. Having a seasoned veteran in the room can only help those two guys.

I'm not expecting McCarthy to light it up early in the season.... most rookies don't. I think he will be better as the season progresses and he learns more. The Vikings season will go the way McCarthy goes. I'm not expecting them to make the playoffs, but hope they do.
