***2025 Iowa High School Football***

Since the IowaPreps forums died with the move from Rivals to On3, and the BEDS thread is mostly conference realignment, here's a season thread.

Week 0 kicks off tonight. Scrimmages across the majority of the state, but there are a half-dozen actual real countable games in 8-man.

Three schools have already called off their seasons due to low numbers, so 8-man will have 66 teams instead of 69.

Valley-Dowling Week 1 is an absolute travesty. The biggest rivalry in the state should be the last game of the regular season.

And it's not even being aired by WHOTV in their Friday Night lineup...

Only 1 Valley game? And 0 Dowling games? Someone should do a wellness check on Sears.

Man I wish we could have scrimmaged another school back when I played (mid-late 90s).

What a great way to get a game feel and get some situations for young players, new positions, etc.

Why would they air Dowling/Valley when Ankeny Centennial/Southeast Polk is the same night?

They mix in some small school games.

KCRG does do a good job of spreading attention around to different schools in the area. I think they‘ve even done some 8-player games in the past.

CISN on YouTube usually does multiple CIML games per week. 99.999% chance that you can see Valley/Dowling there.

It will slow down. Just keep learning and trust those with more experience.
