Kansas University Donation

Obviously its easy and not fair to sit here and spend other people's money..
But I wish a group led by Albaugh would set up a ~$100M endowment for ISU basketball.
Let that earnings on that ~$10M/year fund the Mens and possibly women's basketball program

Denny's got $3.5bn, similar to Booth. If he wanted to do it for TJ, he obviously could

$5million is enough to be the 9th and 10th richest people in the state? I'm not buying that.
Kirk Ferentz makes upwards of $7M per year. Why isn't he on the list. At least he actually lives here. Even Albaugh has to live in Florida for >50% of the year to avoid paying Income taxes here in Iowa.

Beth Ford is the CEO of Land o Lakes.... perhaps she has a few million to toss in the pot. Certainly not at the $300 million level.
Unless she gives it all to the Bishop Heelan Crusaders Athletic Department…

So does this mean KU is transitioning from being a basketball school to a football school? If you have ever been on the KU campus on a gameday it's obvious that KU basketball is king. They recently renovated Phog Allen and it is far from an elite facility still but that is where the money still goes to keep the program rolling. KU football even when good the fan support usually lacked because everyone is so invested in basketball. Will be interesting if the big stadium renovations jumpstarts what has been mostly a doormat program in the Big 12 for a long time. It was easily the biggest sh**hole stadium in the conference before.

To be honest both facilities do not have very good gameday atmospheres when it comes to parking. Tailgating is nearly non-existent when I have gone to road trips as they have no parking near the stadium so you have to drive around and find some neighborhood or frat parking lot nearby that people setup at. Basketball is a mess too getting in and out. It's basically the Iowa State fair for parking in nearby neighbor lots and yards if you can't come across a parking pass somewhat close to the fieldhouse.

Isn't David Booth the guy who bought the Naismith rules of basketball to be displayed next to the Phog?
