If the boys beat Purple Kansas across the pond, 8-4 will be disappointing.

Yeah that’s true. To me it just seems like they’re going to be in the exact same boat as they were in last year but a little better at the QB position, worse at the RB position, and they play a harder schedule.
I think 8-4 is highly likely and 11-1 / 10-2 is just ridiculous. Using that logic and looking at Iowa’s schedule in regards to opponents, Chad believes Iowa is going to be the best or second best team in the Big 10 and a top 5-10 team in college football.

Iowa fans and their media fan boys have lived in this delusional world that their defense is unteachable when in reality their stats have been driven by poor competition. Yes, Iowa's defense has been good but teams with a pulse have been able to exploit them. There's a reason Kirk hasn't beaten a top 25 team in like 5 years.
We haven’t won that game at Jack Trice since the Steele Jantz game. Iowa State has had better teams than Iowa multiple times since then and still lost the game. It’s not that outlandish
Don't forget the gaping hole in the LB position last year. The scheme must be amazing if walk ons can sort of hold things together.
If Gronowski is not competent, Iowa will be missing a bowl game

Would love to see ISU win this game by 30-40 once in my lifetime but at this point i would just settle for a 4 or 5 year win streak
11-1 with that schedule gets them a bye in the CFP and probably the #1 or #2 seed. They would have won all but 1 of the following games... @ Iowa State, USC, Nebraska and Wisconsin (I know but it still matters to win there), home against Indiana, Oregon, Penn State and even Minnesota who on paper looks salty.
That would be an elite football team.
I can see us being a better team, but having 7-8 wins just because of one score games/ball bouncing other way. Similar to 2021.
I do feel CMC and the staff are better equipped to handle the higher expectations.
