Chris Williams and Brent Blum take questions from CF subscribers. What are the weak spots for next year’s football and basketball teams? What are some of the guys’ favorite Cyclone memories. All of this and more on the Sunday pod presented by Mechdyne.

In a recent interview, Pollard mentioned having enough money to cover 2 years of the new NIL payments. Is he including money from We Will or can recover without that money?

One thing that struck me was, when talking about the new guys contributing, they’ve mentioned Bateman. CW mentioned Killyan on a recent pod.

But when they talk about how good Milan and Joshua are going to be as inside and out guys, I feel like Pleta is going to be the third piece of that puzzle.

Love Blum’s optimism but setting a floor for football wins at 7.5-8 is crazy talk. I like our ceiling, but this conference is way too balanced, we lost some talent, have questions, and let’s not forget how easily some of last year games could have gone the other way. Excited for this team but let’s calm the expectations a bit.

Wrong wording. I think the over under of 7.5 is appropriate.

It's mentioned we need the state to step up and legislate some things. Is there any lobbying going on now, what is the plan to get something done? Is someone leading the lobbying effort?

Disagree. Even the national media experts are on board with this team. It's not just locals:

Sure, Big 12 will be balanced. But it’s also “easier” than it’s ever been. Our path to consistent Big 10 West-like 9 win seasons has never been more attainable.

Said it in another thread but this will be my general expectation for about all seasons going forward regardless of the previous one.

Just takes a handful of plays, injuries, etc. to keep you at 7 or build up to 9ish.

On the other hand, one of our losses was also bad luck. People did this in 2020 too. The wins are always fluky but never the losses.

Williams is right. Americans are just not capable of doing what the Europeans did when they rallied to kill the super league. It's the American way to kill off competition and hoard all the wealth/power. Obviously the Euros aren't perfect and half the teams are owned by Middle Eastern kings so it's not really a good comparison but still. When the PAC 12 died the fans of the other conferences pretended to feel bad for them but were secretly happy. Next it'll be us, hopefully this gets fixed before then.
