*** Official 2025 Chicago Cubs Thread***

The dive into home looked like he was gassed, maybe dinged up? I dunno.

Not sure I recall an offense this hot. Maybe 15-18 but that feels so long ago after the last few years.
Tucker is just an absolute game changer. So many ways this lineup can beat you. Long ball, several guys hitting well, and the aggressive base running just makes for an all around fun team to watch. NEED to address pitching and this could be a special year

Yo, cheap ass Ricketts. Sign. Friggin. Tucker. You've quadrupled your investment in the Cubs. Spend some of the largesse on a quality player.

Also, PCA. LOL. Love that kid.

What a fun, emotional win. This is such a fun team.

Only concern is that really shouldn’t have been a game if Jed takes 3B/roster building a tad more seriously, as Workman had 2 errors that, at a minimum, cost 4 of the Dodgers 10 runs.

If I’m Jed I’m putting Workman on waivers today, hoping he clears, and seeing what the Tigers want for him for a trade. I’m not sure what I’d replace him with, but right now he contributes nothing positively to the organization.

There is going to be overwhelming pressure from the fans to sign Tucker. We’re all seeing the evidence of what a superstar does for an already solid team. Not signing Bryce Harper was a mistake and may very well have cost the organization another WS. I think ownership has even kind of acknowledged that fact. It’s going to be uncomfortable because Tucker is going to command at least 400 million but it simply has to get done.

In hindsight it might have been better to try to retain Paredes and see if the Astros would take another prospect instead. Then they could have eased Shaw in instead of throwing him into the fire.

Is Workman out of options already?

Not sure who I would bring up from I-Cubs to replace Workman. Positionally, Cowles would make sense- but he's struck out 43% of his at-bats with the I-Cubs this spring.

If Ballesteros keeps hitting (currently .389)- they will need to bring him up. Just not sure where he would get at-bats. Unless the Cubs determine Justin Turner (.139) is done. But for all the talk how Turner is a great clubhouse guy, I feel FO will give him another 30-45 days to get his swing back.

The Cubs have options at 3B. I platoon Berti and Brujan and see if one can establish themself as everyday guy. Then I slot Workman as PH/DH and mop-up duty at 3rd in blow-out losses for the next 60 days.

I've actually kind of liked what I've seen with Berti.

At this point just bring Shaw back up, let him hit 8th and hope he comes around.

Other than him developing some bad habits and pressing during his time in Chicago. I haven't heard what the front office objective was in sending Shaw down. Are they going to work eliminating/reducing his leg kick?

If they are going to work on swing mechanics, then they need to be patient and let him spend a couple months in DSM to gain confidence to new approach
