Is Bennett Stirtz the best returning PG in the nation. I watched him playing against UNI and I wasn’t terribly impressed. He is good but is he really the best PG in the nation next year?
It’s not at all like professional sports. There they have multi year contracts and teams can’t offer biggest contracts to players that are tied to other teams. Pros aren’t near as crazy
This is what it has come to. True student-athlete who is finishing up his travel degree with a minor in geography (IL, NV, AZ, FL, NY, WI, KS, ??)

Much better roster salary management to play 4s as the backup 5, than to spend on multiple centers that can only contribute to one position
Imo given Buchanan’s price, tough to justify another quality center. Any “rebounder/rim protector with some agility” that is likely to be in the rotation would put the center position at $1+ million of our roster cost. That’s a lot to pay for defense and rebounding
Certainly top tier. Depends what you are looking for in a PG.
Kind of curious is there somewhere that shows what other schools offered the transfers we did get?
This is actually kind of sad for the guy. He never got to have a normal childhood. IT was strickly about basketball. He won't have good high school memories or good friends from high school. He won't have a college he can tie his name to at all. All in the name of basketball.
The way I figure it is if we have to do 15 schollys. That means we have to pay 3 more NIL guys. Guessing we might award someone like a walkon with playing time a schollarship. Other than that we would be spreading our NIL over 15 players instead of 12. WHich would mean less bang for our buck. Just a thought. I think 10 years ago we absolutely use 15 schollys.
He is a nice player and will do fine at the high major level. But ranking him as the number 1 or 2 player in the portal this year is laughable. This is why no one should get bent outta shape about missing this highly ranked player or that highly ranked player. Scouting is a crap shoot.

If we're going that route as opposed to adding another guard, I think I'd rather have another high energy 6-9ish guy with good athleticism and just enough beef to play the 5 when needed. Gives us a lot more flexibility, especially on defense with switching.
