Massive swing and miss.. I trust Otz but it's obvious our pursuit of him has been ongoing for awhile now...

Really, really need Toure and Bateman to come in and contribute
Luckily in the transfer portal game you can swing and miss many times and still end up with a similar or even better fit. Cujo and Jefferson were both brought in after we missed on our first targets, not too shabby.

I trust Otz for sure.. I just don't love our financial position versus others in free agency this spring...

Honest question, and this isn't directed just to you, and maybe it's a dumb question, but do players still really go to class? With all the transferring and money involved I just wonder. When was the last time we heard of a player-in any sport-be declared academically ineligible? It's just crazy times

Another related question, where does a kid get a degree from if he's been to multiple schools. You have to take a certin amount of credits at a school before they give you a piece of paper.

Thank God Rhode went to Wisky. Why did we even want him? He's 10 spots worse than Nojous and people think he can add something. McNeeley only shooter on UVA.

Thanks for the response. I liked Heise's game all year, I wanted to see him shoot more consistently from 3 the 1st 2/3s of the season but I loved his effort. I think he will shoot a lot better next year, it seems like it takes guys a year in the system sometimes to shoot consistently. I remember back to Kantrail Horton and the effort he gave his first year, even though he couldn't seem to shoot consistently.

I guess if we don't get Rohde, if we want to keep Batemon and Toure maybe we need to develop roles for them. its hard to see both of them getting minutes or even one of them very many minutes if we bring in another guard like Rohde.
This year a healthy ISU team had no ceiling. Next year, I think the ceiling is 3-4th in the league, round of 16 in the tourney, maybe round of 8 with a big upset. It might not be the year to sacrifice those two FR guards development if they are really as good as they think. The other player that doesn't get talked about a lot is Mitchell, he scored a lot of points and had good rebounding numbers too.
So, we win the B12 and go to the Final 4.

What was it that made him an excellent fit? The 9pt average or the minuscule amount of steals he had in a supposed tough defense?

Sounds like a basic player to me that we shouldn't have any trouble finding an equivalent or better one.
Exactly, I dont know why people are obsessed with all these Virginia players when they were terrible this year in the weakest ACC in modern times. If all these guys were so good you would think Virginia would have at least been a bubble team.

When you prioritize a transfer for months and think you have him, it’s a fumble to not land him.

He was an excellent fit. Odds are not exactly great we land someone as impactful at three positions
"Colossal fumble" was the statement. It's a stupid take. TJ recruited a player and didn’t get him. I'm guessing he's not curled up in a fetal ball and, instead, has moved on.

I agree, I've been thinking all along this is ISU's best recruiting class since Halliburton and THT. I think at least 3 of the freshmen could end up getting serious minutes on next year's team. We would square up as an OK tournament bound team, will be fun to watch with some highs and some lows. But a potential powerhouse brewing for 26-27 if TJ can find a true PG replacement for Lipsey.
I'm trying to think of the impact freshmen we've had. I think Hoiberg, and Michalik in '91, Haluska was pretty good in '02, Jake Sullivan on '03.

Who else? Who were the best impact freshman since then (or before)?
