I could be wrong, but it doesn't seem like we've blown out our budget for these 3 (no disrespect to them, they just don't appear to be in the most competitive tier in the portal), so I'm wondering if we're saving it for one big transfer (maybe a shooting guard)?
We get a dynamic guard that is a top notch scorer and put your resources there. I have no idea if this player exists, but a 6- 4 shooter thst can drive and finish and I break the bank for him.

Nothing against Buchanan but I’m curious if this is the type of player TJ is recruiting or just who we can afford. Watching these 2nd weekend games every team has players with bounce in the paint. Would love to grab a 6-9 6-10 dude with excellent athleticism even if offensively limited. (Ward)
So would every other school in the country

No. My concern is lack of athleticism with all these guys. Look at all these teams in elite 8 and see how athletic they are are from starters to bench players
Did you watch his highlight video? For a 6'11" kid he is plenty athletic. Reminds me of the Nelson kid from Bama or Veesaar of Zona.

On offense he looks solid in PNR with nice runner in paint.

Also he's young so a couple years to develop.

Who says that still won't happen? We lost Jackson, Chatfield and Rock.

Mulder and Buchannon are solid adds vs. what we lost.

We’re the Oakland A’s. So no, it’ll be the three we’ve gotten and Rhode, sadly.

It’ll be another 20+ win season with a decent seed but no chance to advance far in the tournament.

Judging by what seemed to be a majority of posts, we were all ok with Jackson walking because Cluff was seemingly in the fold. If Cluff is out, and this is the replacement...we somehow got less athletic/skilled in the post this portal season.

If there are no other moves expected for the post then maybe this means the staff is expecting big things out of Pleta? That's a big unknown though. At this point we've brought in 3 bench players. Hoping like hell Cluff is still an option...otherwise our ceiling has dropped considerably. Going to have to go back to the smashmouth, slow it down style.

We aren't going to get guys like that. Too expensive.

How'd we get less athletic? Chat and Dishon were not athletes. Buchanan seems pretty athletic and fluid on defense from video I've seen

Unless Batemon and/or Toure is another Pettiford from Auburn or Christian Anderson from Texas Tech

At least this guy is from Virginia so he has proven himself in a Power 5 conference(even though the ACC is bad). I think it's been 3 years since we've even landed a player that's not a low or mid-major.

I'm kind of concerned with how bad the teams these 3 guys have come from. They aren't used to a winning culture.
