I'm probably not even going to bother getting a MLB Yankee subscription this season. Seems half the team is headed to the IL. Couple weeks ago it looked like they need to trade away a starter (Stroman) and now they are a likely a guy short in a period of a week.

The poor Yankees. Can’t they just buy another $30M player. I feel so bad for you.

This has to be the result of somewhere like Orlando offering a better stadium? What a mess!
Would think there would be cities interested in adding a pro sport with 81 home contests. Cities in the SE like Nashville and Charlotte might show some interest. Could also see Austin or San Antonio have interest in MLB.

Adding Mexico City would be interesting. With the number of Latin American baseball players it could be a natural progression for MLB. But would be curious how MLB would re-shuffle divisions.

Nashville, San Antonio, and Charlotte already have minor league teams. There's also a minor league team in Round Rock, a suburb of Austin. I don't know if they'd want to have minor leagues compete with a major league team. But, I'm with you, surely there's a city who could take them on.

None of the cities would worry about that. Those minor league teams would just move.

At #19 in this article it states this:

Elsewhere in the TV rights world, things are very much in flux. For fans, however, 2025 presents a refreshing, encouraging new era of ballwatching. Fans of 27 teams (all but Houston, Baltimore and Washington) can watch their favorite clubs in-market on MLB.TV, without the infuriating blackouts that for so long frustrated fans across the country. That, amid all the confusion around local TV carriers, bankruptcies and the ESPN situation, is unequivocally a good thing.

How have I not heard this? 27 teams won't face those dumb blackout rules on MLB.TV?? Is this true? I sure hope so!

I want this to be true, but I'm pretty sure it's not.
