We averaged like 60 points a game with Brock. I’m sure there were stretches where he “disappeared”. Long stretches where the entire offense disappeared actually.

Role as in he'll be the backup center and play around 15 minutes a game. Jackson, Jones, and Chatfield all had their own limitations. You don't want to necessarily rely on any of the three to play starter minutes, but could all be productive as post depth in their own way.

I agree, it doesn't hurt to have a 6'11" post. If Cluff came in he'd likely be the starter, and Jackson relegated to the Chatfield bruiser role. Question is - would he be willing to do that? With what bigs go for in the portal..I'd doubt it, but that would be best case scenario for the 5 imo.

I want Jackson back. 6'11" posts don't grow on trees. I think part of the issue was the other center had nearly identical type of game. Not overly skilled slow-footed 6'11" bruiser.

Jackson rotating with Hasan Ward would have been awesome. Play Ward against stretch 5s and quicker more athletic teams, but have Jackson against bigger guys. I also loved Jackson's free throw shooting after feeling like Jones/Ward getting fouled was basically a turnover the last two years.

I guess I don't really get all the desire for Rohde. If Heise wasn't coming back, then sure, but they are similar enough players that I don't think it makes sense to have both. It was pretty evident towards the end of the year, that we need to get more athletic in a few areas. One being on the wing. Don't get me wrong, he seems like a good player, and has a good 3pt%, but it isn't like he's some volume shooter that's going to fill it up. After losing the scoring of Jones & Gilbert -- that's exactly what they'll need.

Now if they decide to go after Rohde AND a scoring guard/wing then sure, I just don't know if we have the funds for that.

Second order of business has to be a more athletic 5. Jackson is a large human, but is not quick or athletic enough to be that true rim protector. He was really exposed this year in matchups against smaller more athletic bigs. His hands of stone on the offensive end didn't help either. Pair him with an above the rim guy(doesn't even have to be as big, 6'9" is plenty), and I think they'd have a good duo. Ward was missed more than I expected.

He has a very similar game to C. Jones with 2 extra inches. Usage at Virginia is low because their pace of play

This kid is a maniac smashing on everyone. Only has played 1 year at a mid major. Could be a willing off the bench guy in a step up in competition

I agree he'd be a good player - just don't think we need to add that mold of player to next year's roster.

If we need to replace scoring in a hurry, we need to look at it as find a better option for Gilbert, not Nojus. I don't think Rohde would come here to be the 7th or 8th guy. Like I said, him and Heise just seem too similar to make sense on next year's squad. Any other year, grab him.

Was Rodhe one of their primary ball handlers and initiated their offense some of the time (particularly in the second half of the conference season)? His assist numbers would lead me to believe that is the case. From the start of February on he averaged 5.5 assists per game with a 3.4:1 assist to turnover ratio.

We seem to be at our best when Tamin is playing off the ball, so Rodhe would make some sense from that perspective.

Was Rodhe one of their primary ball handlers and initiated their offense some of the time (particularly in the second half of the conference season)? His assist numbers would lead me to believe that is the case. From the start of February on he averaged 5.5 assists per game with a 3.4:1 assist to turnover ratio.

We seem to be at our best when Tamin is playing off the ball, so Rodhe would make some sense from that perspective.

Yes, he does facilitate the offense. In addition he is one of the highest rated spot up shooters off the pass. So also would benefit from kickouts from post players and Lipsey drives

He sort of became much more of a PG halfway through the year I believe and really had some great stretches of play regarding getting assists and also not turning it over. He's also a very good catch and shoot guy, so he can slide around between the 1-3 or whatever and I think that is valuable.

IMO. If Rohde is an addition, he would start and Heise moves to 6 man. Which would be great

I agree with letting him walk if that's the case. He's a good player and had a good year. I hope he stays, but we're not giving him 7 figures. Jackson and Chatfield are big strong kids and can bully smaller teams, but they are a little slow on the perimeter. Most of our losses have the opposing big going off from 3. They couldn't stay in front of guys when they were setting the ball screen and ended up with open looks. WV, OSU, OM were all like that.

What I'd like to see is a 5 that can switch defensively, be a rim protector and lob threat. A Hason Ward. If he can hit an open 3 all the better. Don't really care about the post up game...Jefferson can do that.

-someone like Rohde would help a lot. He would add value at three positions. Can we get him at $500k to 750k?


-A player with the potential to be a top end scorer at the 2/3 is needed for the team to have a high ceiling. Best if the player isn’t a liability on defense. That’s $1+ million


-An athletic 3/4 garbage guy that plays defense and rebounds out of his area. I’d love for a Hogue type that can also knock down 3P. But even a Banks type at Drake would help. $250k to $500k?

That’s around $2.5 on the higher side. Maybe the market is already past that.

Can we keep most of the core 5 for $2.5 million? We’ll need something for the freshman too

Where is this price list on players you're referring to? I would like to look that over. Is there a discount page too?
