I guess I don't really get all the desire for Rohde. If Heise wasn't coming back, then sure, but they are similar enough players that I don't think it makes sense to have both. It was pretty evident towards the end of the year, that we need to get more athletic in a few areas. One being on the wing. Don't get me wrong, he seems like a good player, and has a good 3pt%, but it isn't like he's some volume shooter that's going to fill it up. After losing the scoring of Jones & Gilbert -- that's exactly what they'll need.
Now if they decide to go after Rohde AND a scoring guard/wing then sure, I just don't know if we have the funds for that.
Second order of business has to be a more athletic 5. Jackson is a large human, but is not quick or athletic enough to be that true rim protector. He was really exposed this year in matchups against smaller more athletic bigs. His hands of stone on the offensive end didn't help either. Pair him with an above the rim guy(doesn't even have to be as big, 6'9" is plenty), and I think they'd have a good duo. Ward was missed more than I expected.

I have a sneaky suspicion that Jackson is going to portal. Which is fine. I think we can find a guy just as good or better in the portal. This season in the portal seems like it's bigger than last season. We need more pieces to the puzzle this season. Curtis Jones replacement is a huge one.

Man, we need to find a player of Daddy Deandre Kane caliber in the portal and I think we would win a Natty. Consistent every game. I miss that team. losing Jones and Gilbert will be brutal.
I really miss having a dependable scorer like him. No sure we’ve had one since.

I want Jackson back. 6'11" posts don't grow on trees. I think part of the issue was the other center had nearly identical type of game. Not overly skilled slow-footed 6'11" bruiser.
My wife would comment everytime Dishon had the ball dislodged or he fumbled the rebound out of bounds- "Dishon has hands of stone, man it would be nice of he could hold onto the ball."
When Jackson says "testing the waters" he's probably talking about professionally. He could end up in the portal but it's a bit of a leap to think he's talking about other D1 programs
